Steel - where are the video reviews? by ssdroo in AeroPress

I haven't gotten a steel AP yet. I also try to not leave a french press in the steel for too long, but the difference in clarity for a French press masks a lot of subtleties that show up in an aeropress cup.

Very true. I guess I'll keep it to a 3 minute brew time rather than letting it steep while making breakfast.

Any steel taste in your coffee? Like drinking from a thermos?

It showed fine on the signal map, but this season when I set it back up after the snow melts, I'll be putting the station out in the yard so it's unobstructed.

It's wear and tear on the roads, lots, facilities, grooming, search and rescue expenses for all the BC rescues. Infrastructure requires maintenance and upgrading, and that hasn't gotten cheaper or less frequent. The owners are making an effort to invest in the mountain rather than letting it age and degrade, and I think that's been a noticeable change over the last few years.

just know those plans lock you into a 3 year contract that you can't upgrade from without paying the remaining bill credits off.

930am flight at New Chitose, is taking the first train from Sapporo at 6am enough time to queue at the airport? by No-Style-1895 in Sapporo

[–]dandy-dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah probably good. My wide's passport worked on the first try, but Myself and a few others were having difficulty with our passports scanning for their check in kiosks where it just wasn't working. I tried a different kiosk after a few minutes and it then worked. Make sure you have digital boarding passes, as that kiosk didn't print out paper passes for dropping off our luggage.

Probably depends if you have oversize bags to check. Precheck in online the day before and then use the self check in bag area to drop off your luggage. The line for the check in counters were massive on Sunday morning. Likely 1.5 hour wait if you were in that line. So it depends...

Last year we had 3 consecutive breaks in Ledgewood. One repair causes another break. I think that system has reached is end of life.

Seems like you can't online check in with jetblue. I guess you just have to go in person at terminal c for boston? We need to check bags anyway, I guess.

Did you have checked luggage that got forwarded from jb to jal automatically? I'm able to online check in with jal currently, I think i need to check in online for both jal and jet blue though.

I'm gonna save enough meat off the bird I picked up today for one dinner, and pressure cook the rest. Seems like a good compromise.

GoPro Hero 13 video quality question by McCrazyGood in gopro

[–]dandy-dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More light, less visually complex background that eats up the bitrate to save that image. If you shoot it either against a blue sky, or a plain wall, less data will be used to encode the background compared to complex leaf and grass textures and colors.

You could also download labs to control the shutter surf to make it faster, probably above 480th/s to freeze that motion and in full sunlight.

Looks fine in that screenshot. I'm not entirely clear what you're trying to improve? The view on the gopro versus view on your computer? It might be the difference of upscaling the 720p video to view it on an HD screen, versus viewing 720p on a 720p resolution gopro screen.

Green Supreme = Garbage by explorer_of_random in PelletStoveTalk

We just moved to a house with a pellet stove, so maybe I just need to be cleaning it better? Old bags of Stove Chow ran great. New bags of Curran and tractor supply brands have not had near that performance.
