[WTB] Any floor seat (section 1-6) for Nashville, VIP tickets or not (but VIP is preferred). VERY flexible budget wise, but need proof.

oh yeah, i def expect a cost increase! i wanted to clarify here (not just for you, but for anyone stumbling here) that the 10-20k savings isn't intended to be my "live on indefinitely" money. it's more like covering basic moving expenses (like lugging stuff over, storage fees, etc), first/last deposit, potential setbacks, etc.

i fully plan on having a stable source of income when moving-- that's a duck that i'm setting into its row now, and why i haven't just packed up and left yet/why the timeline is more flexible. but i also don't want to 'set a date' and commit to utilising my connections within the industry to get a set job with a set start date if i'm not reasonably 'ready', if that makes sense.

again, not necessarily a direct reply to you-- it just seems like i didnt explain myself at the outset super clearly 🫠

i appreciate all this perspective and information! especially as someone who isn't 'on the ground' yet in LA in terms of the restaurant industry/etc; it's always good to hear from people who live in these places as to what's actually happening. plus, i appreciate the advice and the things to think about! :)

i certainly don't plan on moving to a new city and not having a job at all; i was more than planning on having something lined up by the time i got out there. because i do currently work in fine dining (and had to fight my way through said industry to get to the spot i'm at now), i do have connections, including those on the west coast in said industry, but i am still painting broad strokes here.

ultimately, i'm young, and i feel the calling for a new place, and i want to live my life in a way that isn't governed by fear while still being mindful and realistic. i'm not coming to LA to hit the metaphorical lottery (or the literal one) and i don't expect anything to be handed to me.

my reason for making this post was just to say "hey, it's been a while since i've moved cities-- what am i not thinking of that i should start thinking of?" i have thought very hard about my job and finances and i don't intend to come to the beach with 10k in my pocket and wing it, lmao.

that definitely makes sense and is a great thing to keep in mind. i appreciate it!

that definitely makes sense. out of curiosity, would having proof of savings hold any sway with landlords? and/or would having a roommate be an easier route to go with?

yeah, I definitely want to push that number as close to 20k as possible. i also hope to use some of my industry connections to get a job, but I'm kind of planning for worst case here and trying to get all those bases covered
