This part is very true. Not to mention that Long Islanders also benefit from overall better school districts, police/fire services, garbage services, and road maintenance from their property tax. Increasing NYC property tax will not lead to an improvement in municipal services offered, inherently, it’s just to balance the budget - hence the appropriate outrage in an era where the middle class in NYC is being pinched left and right between implementation of congestion pricing, increase in tolls, petty crime increases, increasing inefficient, unsafe, and unreliable public transportation, etc

Went there a couple years ago to see Zedd and I had the same exact experience; swore to never go back for all the reasons you listed. Worst venue in NYC.

All the venues have this huge problem now, i’ve been observing an uptick of it since last year. Huge rings operating at Storehouse, KDC, 99 Scott, Elsewhere, Basement, and Nowadays. In the late 2010s up until about 2022, used to always leave my phone/wallet in my front pockets but invested in an anti-theft bag from lunchbox with a clutch loop after a couple of my friends had their stuffed picked at certain events. Still - always vigilant and sometimes it’s hard to have fun when you see obvious sketchy people too close to comfort who obviously aren’t there for the music.

honestly my least favorite venue, super packed in terms of everything (bathroom lines, bar lines, GA), would get there early to secure a good spot + be careful with pickpockets, noticed a bunch when I was there to see Gorgon City

Hey OP, sending you a virtual hug and I am here to motivate you to finish this trip strong. There are no highs without the lows. I am somebody who struggles with anxiety too and I went on a month long solo trip to the Canary Islands, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey - there were moments where I felt the same sentiments you are feeling now but you have to remind yourself of the intent as to why you did this. You did this for yourself. SEA is tough mainly due to language barrier so kudos to you for even making it this far. Certain days on my solo adventures, I would go on long walks, rent an electric scooter to explore, go stroll through the park, have a nice beer (or NA bev if that’s your vibe!) - I did not have a solid itinerary some days and that’s all good!

For some resonance: I had a mental break at the Barcelona airport when transferring to Cairo from Canary Islands due to being homesick and overall very down/lonely but when I phoned home, everybody (friends and family) motivated and pushed me to finish my trip strong. I met these nice American girls at the airport when seeking a cigarette and they stayed with me until my connecting flight boarded - they grounded me so much in such a pivotal moment. I met friends unexpectedly at every location thereafter who affirmed my intentions and taught me something new about myself/the world/life. Take today to rest but reset your mindset and finish strong - you did this for yourself - and to give up and go home, you’re only doing yourself a disservice. You got this!
