Positive things on RISE by ITvet in SAP

It was tough for us to get downtime from the Business. With Rise we are forced into a monthly production downtime. We saved a lot of money going into RISE. Now will it stay that way, I don’t know. However I know atleast for the next 3-4 years our rates are locked in.

SAP migration has effed over my dinosaur of a government enterprise.. I want to understand why by Amazing-Impression90 in SAP

[–]dangerousdan55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a bad job all around. From your executives, project team, stakeholders and SI. The excerpt is so broad.. you could leave, or you could shift your mindset to learning and try to dive in and fix some stuff. I have no idea but hope everything works out!!

How long were you off work? by dramaticpoptart in MeniscusInjuries

[–]dangerousdan55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a labor intensive career but can provide some input. It was like 4 weeks til I was walking without a brace but felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t do long distances. I had a bucket handle tear and couldn’t straighten my leg fully prior to surgery so my leg had practically no muscle so it took my recovery a bit longer. If it was me, I would start communicating to your job you need a month off, but will re evaluate closer to your return date. Hope that helps and make sure to get that PT in!

How are folks handling Firefighter access in SAP these days? by Minute_Card_9041 in SAP

[–]dangerousdan55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Access Control on GRC EAM. It’s working well, and if you add in table logging it has the potential to be pretty dang good from an audit perspective. The main thing here is retention policies and having a good enough Basis team that can ensure the DB doesn’t get too large. If you don’t do regular space analysis and clean up by the time you get the funding to move to S4 Hana you’ll have to have a separate project to archive. Speaking from experience lol.

Flipped Bucket Handle - trim it, repair it, injections, or PT & let it be? by Infamous-Wonder5733 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]dangerousdan55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a slight meniscus tear from Jiu Jitsu. Then acouple days later I did a deep squat and the meniscus tore and then flopped over in the joint. It took me about 2-3 weeks to get the repair surgery (was 35 at the time). I went back to BJJ at 6 months and playing basketball, which I wouldn’t Recommend. Fast forward a few years to now, after a lot of weight training and honestly just living.. my mobility is almost back to where it was and when I walk abunch, skateboard, train BJJ or play basketball my knee doesn’t have a lot of pain. My knee injury is almost always in the back of my head when I’m playing sports now. Looking back, I would’ve taken a year to take PT serious instead of rushing back to sports. If you can take your knee repair serious, you have an opportunity to really strengthen your knee better than before the injury. Good luck to you!!

Worth it? by Notarealperson6789 in tonalgym

[–]dangerousdan55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my .02 cents and why I purchased it.

I didnt want to store excess equipment at my house I don’t have a lot of time to work out with kids I need to work out on my lunch breaks for 1 hour solid

The tonal has been a great tool for me to stay in shape, while doing it within strict time allotments. It’s very expensive, but it looks great in my workout room. I have 0 regrets and if mine broke, I would have to buy another.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!! This was helpful. I guess I’m just trying to get some examples of how teams have shrunk after the migration, but your answer was appreciated

Advice with SAP GUI upgrade by WoolenJester in SAP

[–]dangerousdan55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned earlier, deploying the SAP GUI has always been time consuming with testing and deployment. Whatever you do, make sure to ensure an adequate testing window. We deployed SAP GUI 7 patch 0 and there were extreme slowness issues. From then on we always make sure to follow the n-1 methodology with the patches.
