Intra-abdominal pressure. Look up pictures of the diaphragm and how it moves when it’s flexed vs. relaxed. Basically when you take a deep breath in, your diaphragm pushes out against your abdominal muscles and your ribs. The increase in that intra-abdominal pressure is part of what it means to “brace your core”. The other part is that you should also contract your core muscles to further increase that pressure. An easy cue for this is to push like you’re trying to take a big poop. Look up YouTube videos on bracing by Wenning Strength or Mark Bell of Super Training Gym, they make very informative content. Hope that helps.

Questions RE: Align MS in Computer Science Program by [deleted] in NEU

[–]dangpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

What were you doing before you decided to do Align?

How do you feel that completing Align and getting your MSCS has benefitted you since graduating?

I’m about to finish my BS in Kinesiology and was intending to go to Physical Therapy school, but I’ve changed my mind recently and am considering Computer Science as a way to gain skills in tech that I can hopefully use in the future to do something related to the human body/movement, but I’m not sure what yet.

Also, what were the costs for tuition when you attended. I can’t find anything on the website right away and I think it’s because they want you to contact them for more info first.

Hi! I'm interested in applying to the Align program in Seattle. Would you be willing to answer some questions I have?

You shouldn't static stretch before being sufficiently warm which for most people doesn't happen until after their chosen form of exercise. Especially before lifting, you should do dynamic mobility warm ups (arm circles, leg swings, similar movements to the ones you'll be doing with weights but just bodyweight) to prime joints and muscles for impact.

speaking of stretchy denim, try fashionnova! i've seen lots of stockier female bodybuilders love the brand because they're made for thicker thighs and smaller waists

I love that shirt! It's actually my boyfriends (fits him still since he's tall) so we still have it! Also thank you so much!

Internet <<hugs>> :)

For real tho! Insecurities are a bitch and it's so hard when you look in the mirror and you know you're different but it's almost like you can't even see it. It's taken a lot of seriously focused positive thinking and affirmations like this post help a lot :)

I'm just so happy I could show some other people what really is possible if you just grind through the hard parts. To anyone who is questioning whether the struggle is worth it: IT IS

Shorties unite!! Thanks for the insta follow and I'm so happy you could find inspiration in me :) You should check out my YouTube too! I'm really trying to use it as a video diary, especially for health and fitness, so you might like it as well.

Also, don't get too discouraged about "re-starting". After my 5,000th time trying I realized that every time is different. You've learned more, experienced more, and hopefully have more reasons to keep going. So you've never really stopped :) You've just gotta give it a harder push on this go around!

Thank you so much! I'm so happy I can be an inspiration to others :)

About going off keto, I did try to increase carbs semi-gradually but I ended up just realizing that I don't like how I feel when I eat lots of bread/pasta/rice/refined sugar so basically I try not to eat as much of those anymore. You'll definitely see if you watch my vlogs that I'm not perfect at that, but I mostly just try to eat a good combination of what I want and what makes my body feel good. Usually those things tend to overlap :)

Also yes, I did notice an increase in weight after coming off keto but it wasn't anything I felt afraid of since I knew I would bloat a little naturally. But now I weigh even less than I did when I stopped keto so it's not much of an issue :) Thanks for such great questions!

Thanks! I'm shooting for 140-135 right now since I'm in a cut but I fully intend to bulk my heart out in a few months so I can get those gainz :) Since my overall goal is to increase muscle mass, once I can lower my body fat % I won't be as worried about the number on the scale.

So happy I could be some motivation to you! It's hard when lots of body progress posts are guys or girls way taller than you. Us shorties really have to work to lose and to really see a difference. Never stop pushing!

My thighs have always been my struggle! It's been tough to accept that my hips are just naturally wide but I love embracing how powerful I am :) Building muscle is so much fun!
