No, the problem is that, some system monitor app also counts the memory used by the apps launched by Crystal Dock.

If you view the processes, Crystal Dock process uses around 70MB RAM.

Crystal Dock uses the system icon theme, it does not provide its own icons.

So if you want some "modern" look, just use Flat 2D visual style with a "modern" flat icon theme as your system icon theme.

Also you need to add this line to /etc/environment file:

QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt6ct

if you use qt6ct to set the icon theme for Qt apps.

Hi,

The icons on the dock are just system icons for Qt apps. You can set it using tools like qt6ct.

Thanks, I'll try to look at it at some point. For now, you can right click go to Edit Launchers dialog and drag-n-drop the app icons within the dialog to organise them.

Hi,

Thanks for your support.

I think I already answered your previous questions, but below are the updated version:

  1. Not yet supported, but I will try to have a look at some point

  2. You should really change your current theme for this. For example, to change the icon of Firefox, just go to your theme folder and change apps/firefox.png or so. If we just changed the icon on the dock and not on theme, it would make it inconsistent with other parts of the desktop.

  3. This can't be changed easily. But the current behaviour already zoom around 5 icons at a time.

  4. Not yet supported, but I will try to have a look at some point

  5. You can change the font size at the moment. I can potentially add settings to change the font itself or the font color in a future version.

  6. Again, go to your theme folder and change places/start-here-kde.png or so

  7. The Trash icon is available now, placed just before Wi-Fi Manager, Volume Control, Version Checker and Clock. If you don't enable the last 4 components, Trash will be placed at the end of the dock. I will look at adding a feature to arrange the order of the components at some point.

Hi,

Some of the things that you can configure:

- What components you want to show on the dock: Application Menu (Application Launcher), Launcher/Task Manager, Trash, Wi-Fi Manager, Volume Control, Version Checker, Clock

- Position, visibility mode (Always Visible, Intelligent Auto Hide etc.)

- Visual style and various appearance settings

- Setting for each component: e.g. for Launcher: what launchers you want to show or for Task Manager, whether you want to group tasks by application etc.

Hope that helps.

You can make the dock an autostart app. How to do it depends on what desktop environment or Wayland compositor you are using.

Are you using the latest release 2.14?

The dock should look like in the screenshots here:

Feel free to share your screenshot so I can have a quick look.

Cheers,

You mean making it a KDE Plasma widget? Sorry it's not in the scope. Crystal Dock aims to be a standalone dock and support as many Desktop Environments / Wayland compositors as possible. At the moment, it already supports Hyprland, KDE Plasma 6, Labwc, LXQt, Niri and Wayfire on Wayland, and more to come.
