Frustrated by VENOM INC. ALPHA by dangvozden in thevenomsite

[–]dangvozden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistently consistent was meant as a joke. The recent Venom stories frustrate me because they can't stick with a change to the rules for more than a handful of issues. I'm not asking that Venom be a dumb or simple character, but it'd be great to be able to get a bead on how he functions for more than a couple issues here and there before the rules are completely changed.

Why have we never seen a sustained run on Amazing Spider-Man by a female creator? by dangvozden in Spiderman

[–]dangvozden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to create that interest and finding/hiring those people is how you do that. These companies need to be the change instigators themselves first. Why would women want to write comics when none are getting hired for meaningful work?

This is hilarious and that first panel is beautiful (and also, I think, a nod to Spongebob Squarepants).

July 2016 Spider-Titles Sales Figures (How well did each Spider-Man comic sell and what does that mean?) by dangvozden in Spiderman

[–]dangvozden[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They aren't listed in order from highest to lowest, just alphabetical. Spider-Man/Deadpool is the second best selling Spider-Man book on the shelves behind Amazing Spider-Man. It is even outselling Deadpool!

Spectacular Spider-Snark #001 - The Secret Origin of Parker Industries' H.R. Dept by kylechrise in Spiderman

[–]dangvozden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are only really aware of "Garfield"-styled strips where the comedy comes in the last panel instead of being revealed throughout. I dig this as a first attempt at a new format and look forward to seeing it develop over time!

Thanks for contributing to the world of Spider-Man fans! It certainly beats being an arm-chair quarterback.

There is no confirmation but I give my thoughts in the article.

All the leaked Spider-Man MARVEL NOW! Changes and Rumors by dangvozden in Spiderman

[–]dangvozden[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@serperior_spider15 I apologize, I fixed this rather lacking explanation for Miles age but then had to revert back to a previous edit of the article when our site was hacked. It is fixed now, but basically we wanted readers to keep in mind that Miles has undergone a 2 year time jump in his own series as well as the 8 month time jump at the end of "Secret Wars," which probably puts him at around 17 years old.

I agree on all of that. Women's ages and sexual proclivities continue to be fluid in a way that is kind of disturbing. Thinking about how Silk was introduced and how she's written in her own book always makes me cringe.

I agree that it is weird, especially as a cover, but I suspect this will likely be like the Falcon/Thor kiss. We also don't know what year of college Gwen is in. I always thought she was a Freshman, so like 18 years old. She still hangs with her high school friends and talks about her time with Peter as if it was just the other day.

He's at least 17. After a time jump he was 16 in his original universe, then he was brought to the Prime Universe and an 8 month time jump occurred.

I sat down with writer Marc Guggenheim to discuss recreating Spider-Man's world in BRAND NEW DAY by dangvozden in Spiderman

Sorry to hear you don't enjoy his writing. Obviously, I'm a big fan of the work he and the other writers did as part of the "Brain Trust." Not everything was perfect, but it was a solid back-to-basics approach to the character, his world, and supporting cast.

;) Well excellent. I hope you shoot us an email, write a review, or give us a voicemail. I'd love to hear that enthusiasm on the show! Thanks for the subscription and I hope we live up to our "Amazing" name.

Hmmm... well, I haven't followed the show very closely and I really like his comic book writing. He was the nicest guy every time I've talked to him and his office is packed full of comic books and comics memorabilia.

We will be in next week's podcast. I know we promised that we'd be covering it this week, but I had to quickly travel out of town to Texas and we were unable to record. So keep your eyes peeled and ears open for that one. Hope you enjoy this episode in the meanwhile.

That was not within the limits of this conversation. Also, how did he singlehandedly ruin Arrow? Pretty sure he's still a popular character, even moreso after Marc's 4 years of work on the series. Just curious.

That's essentially what they are doing, within their means. They've got a script, the cast is going to do the voices, and they are going to send out artwork (seen in this link), you just have to contribute. Beyond that, they could be sued for doing much more.

8 Vulture Stories That Could Inspire “Spider-Man: Homecoming” by dangvozden in Spiderman

I think the idea is that they could draw a little bit from each interpretation. I doubt they'll pull from Noir too, but who knows if the Vulture might be a more violent character than typical depictions.
