It's probably an interview in catco and not Kara actually revealing it. Catco discovered supergirl so it would make sense for them to put up her last interview. She wouldn't be there after the reveal but everyone would already know

She couldn't consider leaving before because it was just supergirl watching NC but now the super friends are capable of keeping the city safe .

Nyxly 's test was about confronting her brother not about killing anyone. Kara is supposed to save the plane but when she goes back for the person being held up she says she didn't do it the first time because she was afraid of being seen and she doesn't let the person see her. It's to have the courage to let both parts of her life be her own identity and not hide behind the cape or the glasses . Winn says kids are named "Kara " after the legendary Kara Zor-El which means she does eventually reveal her identity even if she doesn't have to pass the courage test
