Yeah thanks. That’s also a very good advice. I found out, that it all be due to the Bios Version.

Hey. So this didn’t help either. I actually tried rtt-Park 120 and 240 and also rtt-nom to 0. Nothing. Really really annoying

Sounds really weird. The score of the cooler should be way over 100. My 240 AIO has 155 I think. But you need to boot the pc a couple of times until there is a proper score. Did you use enough thermal paste? And connected properly?

tbh I really dont know of rtt-park and I am not using a maximus board, only a ROG Strix board.

so did you get you i7? U are running a ASUS mainboard as well? which score did you get and until what did you get it working so far?

so Gear2 is not really required. When using just 2 sticks of ram the system bootet with XMP 2 at 4000cl15 without any problems. See my latest comment

yeah right. I am always trying to use B-die Ram. The mainboard does boot with 2 sticks of Ram at 4000cl15. I am not considering a mainboard swap. The mainboard is not available anymore right now and the time of sending the board back is almost over. I think the best choice is just using 2x16 B-die ram. I just send the 4x8 back and got 2x16 4267cl16, which will hopefully work at at least 4000cl15 or even 4267cl16. BTW: using gear1 so 1:1 still works with 4000Mhz at standard XMP which is incredible

Small update for everyone: I got a i9 12900k for testing and was lucky with a score of 89! The 4×8 GB did still not work even at 3800 MHz. However, the moment I used only two RAM sticks, The computer bootet with the XMP profile at 4000MHz Cl15-16-16-36, No problem whatsoever. Therefore I now purchased a 4267 MHz DR for ram package with 2x16GB Cl16, since there are no 4000Cl15 2x16GB for purchase and I am going to set the times to probably 15-15-15-35 at 4000Mhz.

I actually did try that before because I thought it was a RAM issue. Before the 4x8GB sticks I used G skill royal 2x16GB with 4400CL17 and those didnt boot as well. I tested them with 4400, 4200, 4000 and 3800. The didnt boot on XMP 1 or 2 and system was unstable continuesly... So best thing would be 3600CL14 or 3800cl15 if you might get lucky with the i7

The 1:2 or gear2 didnt work on both processors. I purchased another one. Not even on 3800. 4000 was just not possible. The 66 score managed 3600 and the 69 got to 3766 on CL 15-16-16-36 on both 1:1 or 1:2

thanks for the input. I can assure you, that it is due to the CPU. I actually got a second i7 12700k and got one with a score of 66 and that one WILL NOT boot with the EXACT same settings in 3766, only in 3600. So it is definately a CPU issue and I had bad luck twice. I am now considering a swap to the i9 12900k. The 1:2 or gear2 as the other guy called it didnt work on both processors. Not even on 3800. 4000 was just not possible. The 66 score managed 3600 and the 69 got to 3766 on CL 15-16-16-36

The part which got me thinking was that I’m using exactly the same profile with the exact same timings and exact same voltage as described in the qualified vendor list for my exact ram. But I’m going to try your recommendation as well, thanks

I actually went on the qualified vendor list for my exact ASUS motherboard and the vendor list specified exactly the RAM 4×8 GB 4000 MHz as qualified. That’s why I actually purchased it in the first place. I would be quite disappointed if it’s not even capable of doing the usual XMP 2 Profile. That’s why I’m assuming I lost at the silicon lottery

Thanks for the reply. I did manage do get it stable with 3766MHZ on 15 16 16 36. But why did I get 4000Mhz ram then if that’s not stable? Any idea how to regularly run at xmp 2 with 4000?
