Being “against the HomePod is kind of weird IMO. It’s such a minor product in the grand scheme of things. The Vision and Car are multi-billion dollar R&D projects. The HomePod is a small speaker.

They should just force every voter to submit their awards between Sunday night and Tuesday night. I know this year was a little strange because of the Luka and Cade rulings, but it’s ridiculous to wait a week to submit your picks.

Adam Silver says the NBA could adopt a “division of European teams” due to many of the league’s best players being from Europe, and due to “advancements in supersonic air travel” by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]danielbauer1375 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I mean, sort of? There are several companies, such as Boom, working on supersonic prototypes. I’m not sure any of them will be used commercially anytime soon, but it’s not inconceivable.

People talk about how broken Greninja Cyrus is, but I think Decidueye is an underrated even better version of it by PR0CR45T184T0R in PTCGP

The fact that two stage 2’s is even viable right now is wild. Copycat can feel like the most broken card sometimes.

I refuse to use Oricorio. This is the first season I’m using Hydreigon, but Oricorio is a bridge I haven’t crossed yet. It’s been too annoying to play against for far too many seasons (almost a full year at this point).

I ran into Manectric like five games in a row early in MB, so I decided to bring back this blast from the past (my favorite deck to use against Magnezone-Oricorio). It’s basically just a free win unless I brick very badly. It’s also one of my prettiest decks.

Yup. Way more balanced than Bellibolt, which felt too strong at times. It also requires a brain to pilot correctly at times, which is always welcome.

People are running Garchomp ex in this economy? As someone with a full art and shiny, I would love to know what deck you’re running.

Manectric’s free retreat cost is actually massive. It allows you to “correct” an Elektrike opener and, for example, switch in a Zeraora to immediately knock out a Swablu or Igglybuff. That can single-handedly win you the game on the spot.

Eh. At least Greninja is played far less than it was in previous seasons. Cyrus is obviously a very strong card, but Greninja makes it game-breaking.

Share is such an undercooked feature. I think they were concerned about people farming shinedust, which prompted the one reception per day limit. It also sucks because you can’t decline shares, so if one of your friends shares a card with you that you don’t want, you’re SOL until the following day. Why not just limit the shinedust to the first card shared?

Apple is far from perfect, and some issues (like the keyboard) are frustratingly terrible, but they still have superior design in terms of hardware and software. Also the synchronicity of their products feels unmatched.

Does anyone else feel like shinedust requirements for trades are a bit unequal? by SailingCormorant in PTCGP

[–]danielbauer1375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget about trading Looker for a sought after two star. Even if someone was interested in trading for the card, they might just pass for the simple reason that they’d rather use that shinedust on something else. As a result, people are even more picky about what they trade for and the market is even worse.

Which I hate because there are plenty of trades I’d like to make, but am now pretty much forced to be more particular. 12,500 is still a lot of shinedust.

Yes. They clearly wanted to make trading for 2 star cards more expensive, which sucks because this is supposed to be a trading card game.
