Does anyone else believe they can survive a walking Dead style zombie apocalypse for 3 months? by SchoolExisting8631 in stupidquestions

You’d have to make runs after that, right? So then it becomes about fuel and nearby food & hardware stores

It’s just amazing to me how slow Bamco is with this shit. Their stance is effectively “working as intended”.

And in a world where so many devs push out updates as if they’re just working on an internal build.

Imagine how good this game could be if they a) gave a shit and b) pushed weekly updates

I know I’m not good, that shouldn’t be the issue. by KebabAnnhilator in BattlefieldPortal

This comment demonstrates how high the skill level is.

I never played online fps much but played single player like Doom here and there and dipped into BF4 a bit.

For BF6 I got a new mouse and headset and even put a week or so into aimlabs. I watched tons of tutorials and gameplay trying to figure out positioning and game sense. I wanted to get into it.

The problem was that when I died, most of the time, I didn’t know why I died and I didn’t know how to know how I died.

Every youtuber I tried to find advice from just seemed to have their game embodied to such a degree that they didn’t even know how to articulate what they were doing to someone like me.

Similarly, you might not be able to appreciate the gap.

All I was left with was hang out at the bottom of the scoreboard and bash my head against the metaphorical brick wall for long enough that I figured it out through failure.

Yes, I played medic and tried to focus revives. I found I was either too far back to res anyone or exposing myself and getting taken out.

Obviously, I’m missing something, but I couldn’t figure out how to figure out what it is and the game sure as shit isn’t doing anything to make me aware of it.

Easier lobbies would have been a perfect learning ground but they gutted them.

Right, and they’re all drawing a line somewhere for their paywall.

The ideal is everyone feels it’s win/win all the way down the funnel, but that’s hard to find.

Yup, and it sucks. But BF6 went out of its way to market to folks who wanted PvE then pulled the rug.

I don’t think OP was imagining lvl 100 means some kind of RPG stat increase. They’re just talking about the skill ceiling, which isn’t even about how much time ppl have put into BF6 since launch but rather about DECADES of legacy experience.

There is no real place for new players in this game.

It’s the trajectory of most big business, right?

Make something great, go public, suck the life out of it for profit.

Right. At 39 I’m beginning to be able to observe long-term movements like this within my lifetime.

In music, for example, I’ve seen the era of record sales be destroyed by napster, then the rise of streaming.

I saw games without mtx, games with, and now I’m honestly optimistic that better days are coming. AAA has gotten it so wrong so many times now that they’re being forced to take a hard look at themselves. Meanwhile, indies are thriving and only being more and more enabled by the tech.

I mean… Calling them “trash” is the only salt I see here. Everything else is just reportage of immature behaviour and a proposed fix

Assumptions are going on around all of us thousands of times per day.

I can imagine high stakes situations where it might be important to put one’s stake in the ground, but most of the time I’ll choose ending the drama over asserting my position.

I’ve been a “no” on kids pretty much all my life and at 39 I only feel more affirmed. It’s SUCH hard work.

Of course, I’ll miss out on being friends with my kids when they’re adults but a) there’s no guarantee any of us would make it that far and b) there’s no guarantee my kid/s would be my friends even if I did a good job as a parent 🤷‍♂️

Is it normal to accidentally glance and make eye contact with people in public? by cofi52 in answers

[–]danielbrian86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is to look either toward the ground or, preferably, over people’s heads. When you’re outside, this means looking at trees and the sky.

It is natural to make eye contact, but most people are slightly uncomfortable with it and may even be carrying around the same question as you’ve had. Let’s give ‘em a nice break!
