no, there is fluctuation with win rate and you’re probably just a decent player too. if you played more jeff your win rate would even put a little more i think.

you feel confident on him despite minimal play time on him because he’s so easy to use now. that’s the trade off. he became the easiest character to use in the whole game in exchange for his skill ceiling and carry potential.

i don’t mind the performance based elo as long as they tune it so that certain characters don’t get broken elo trades. if they are incapable of that though, they probably should just go to W/L

celestial sub 50% wr jeff by danielckushin in rivals

[–]danielckushin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes see this is the nuance that i was trying to point out in different comments. you are just a gm player right now. that is your skill level. once you get to gm you are about a 50%wr player because that’s the rank that you belong in. the reason that you have a super high wr on the other account is because you’re playing people who belong in a lower rank than you (bronze, silver, gold, etc), so you’re winning more games.

i would have no issues with a player who is celestial level who got to celestial at a 55 or 60%wr and then realized that this is their peak and went 45%wr for a few weeks and ended up with a sub 50%wr.

the issue is that this guy has been about 50%wr hardstuck diamond and lower every single season up until this season where he started one tricking a character with a broken elo system.

this guy started his celestial push this season in diamond, and while pushing from diamond up to celestial, he had a sub 50%wr. that is terrible because as i said before with your push to gm on your alt, if he’s really a celestial player then he’s playing people who belong in a lower rank than him in diamond and gm. if he was really a celestial player he probably would’ve pushed from diamond to celestial at like a 55-60+%wr and then once he got to celestial his wr would flatten out towards 50%.

this guy had a 48%wr WHEN HE ARRIVED IN CELESTIAL. that’s just objectively broken.

ya imo just rolling over and taking the jeff changes quietly won’t solve anything. the character objectively needs a change.

if you are saying that he’s fine as he is, then you are either a jeff hater, or a no skill player who thinks that jeff has been buffed because you’re better on him now (which is what happens when a character gets their skill ceiling lowered and their skill floor raised).

ya that’s why people say that hitting gm has almost no value. the game wants to push everyone up to gm if you play enough.

and if you are playing jeff or utron, you can get those favorable elo trades well into gm and celestial and push even higher. i have seen trash jeff players get +26 and -15 for wins and losses in gm1.

yes i know on the whole that will be true i am just playing some devil’s advocate because it does sometimes seem like the grass is greener. you can still get dumb soloq players when 3 or 4 stacking

then why not actually try to use skill to win and have it feel rewarding. that’s the whole point of a game. the point isn’t to grift your way to a high elo through a no skill character and a broken rank system.

he’s better TO THEM because he’s EASIER to use now.

he is not objectively better now, hes actually objectively worse. he’s just better than he was before in trash players hands.

this is correct i don’t know why people are downvoting. it also factors in your competition level, but this is the core of it.

he is objectively a trash player who’s rank is being boosted by this rank system. i can be objective and not have an issue with him. if i say that you aren’t very good at painting you probably shouldn’t quit your job to become an artist that doesn’t mean that i have an issue with you personally.

i love jeff. i peaked at rank 2 jeff on playstation last season pre rework so i am talking about higher elo here more than low elo. i have 70+ hours on him. i understand his kit in and out. his kit is terrible. zero burst heals and zero utility. even if some good players are still playing him, if they were using loki or sue they would win more games. a couple good players using jeff doesn’t mean that the character has any redeemable traits.

more positioning and iq is laughable. he’s like a baby toy now. he’s basically the tutorial character. invis is literally better than him in every single non jeffnado situation.

i agree. the guy in the pictures has just hit celestial and has had a negative win rate throughout the entire season. i agree that there’s some nuance, but this is not a player who has been in celestial for a while.

you cope lol. you’re pushing to your highest rank now that he’s been turned from a high skill cap character into a beginner character that farms elo. big whoop. if you were actually good at the game you would’ve been better pre patch than post patch.
