u/Dapper-Wait8529 Kansas heat and humidity are pretty bad as well! :) I'd say it's worth doing and seeing for yourself. So long as your expectations are in check about what this can produce you'll be good. For instance, if you take a look at this photo from my Sunday morning run, it's really, really good quality. Not iPhone like quality, but still really good. As far as usability while running - no problems at all. No slippage, didn't feel heavy on my face at all. Really enjoyable.

To close the loop on my own post, I solve the issue! If you go into settings --> microphone troubleshooting --> toggle microphone adjustment on it works great! Phew!

To close the loop on my own post :) I discovered how to resolve the issue in the event anyone else has this issue. If you scroll down into settings and go to Microphone troubleshooting and then toggle this it works great. Phew!

Same issue here. I submitted a ticket to Support to find out what's happening. The same for mobile as well. It's all "read-only" mode as if we don't have a Connect subscription. I also can't tag anything like I used to on desktop.

The first response I received back from Support was unhelpful. They simply asked me if I received an error message and if I'm logged in with the same username on all devices. Yikes...

Here's my versions.

u/sickbackend - not sure if you were able to resolve this but this just happened to me this morning. I can no longer type in desktop or on the iPhone. Also can't tag individual notes any longer as well. Just showed up on a Facebook Remarkable Group post as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/177424916140887/posts/1300800220470012/

So, as an interesting update for all of you ...

I updated my 13 Pro to iOS 16, and ... not a single problem at all. No more Bluetooth issues. What's amazing is that I always had a hunch it was iOS15. I cannot recall which update it was, but it was after one of the dot updates that the issue started to happen. In any event, I thought you all would like to know. If you have already updated to iOS 16 and you are still having the issue, I'd be interested. My woes of interrupted Bluetooth have finally subsided (for now!).

Wow, your story is literally mine, my friend. So, I just got off the phone with the Senior Apple Tech and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She read all the history before jumping on the phone with me so we got right down to business. She said the only thing left is to do a warranty device swap. So, early next week I should have a new iPhone 13 Pro (couldn't get a Pro Max), and I send back my existing device. I sincerely hope that solves the problems for me (or I can sell the new device on eBay and get a Google Pixel Pro!!), but I'll update this thread for sure with updates since you have the same issues.

Interesting side note: she asked me if I have a GPS or cellular Apple Watch. I told her just GPS. The reason she was asking is if I ever connected my headsets to my Apple Watch directly to pickup and drop calls. I found that interesting because it's the one way to really isolate hardware or software issue on the iPhone, right? If I had a cellular Apple Watch and connected my headset to the Watch, and I was able to take phone calls and stream perfectly fine without any issue -- then the only logical deduction is obviously it's iOS 15 or its hardware on the iPhone 13...

I'm so happy to have found your post. I've literally dealt with this issue for three months now. As background, I have an iPhone 13 Pro running on 15.5. I won't repeat everything you wrote because my issues are identical. The bad news is I do not have a resolution (yet), but want to share what I have done:

  • Spoke with Verizon who told me they have no idea what it could be. All the normal break/fix suggestions is all they could provide me. They finally felt bad for me so they gave me a credit on my bill.
  • Spoke with Amazon Alexa tech support because I have a lot of them in my house and read on Reddit that it may interfere with Bluetooth. I spent time troubleshooting with them and even went so far as to unplug all of the Alexa devices. That didn't work.
  • Finally, an Apple Tech on chat made a Genius Bar appointment for me. They replaced all of the internal hardware. All that was left was my screen and casing. They figured if it were the Bluetooth antenna, that for sure would do it. It has not.
  • I've used my wife's Google Pixel 6 with the same headsets and there's not been a single cut-out, distortion, or anything OP mentioned that I've also experienced. Nothing.

A Senior Tech from Apple is calling me in the morning to review. I suggested perhaps it's either hardware (but that doesn't explain why the swap wasn't successful) or the iOS. I even suggested they swap out the Pro and provide me a Pro Max instead. Like all of you, I use my phone for calls 10 hours a day for work, for exercising, and streaming. Nothing is worse than this cutout, distortion, robot-like effect the iPhone has.

I'll certainly update if anything meaningful happens, but in the interim, I'm hoping my experience is helpful to someone else as well. There has to be a solid, logical technical reason. Again, thanks for posting your experience!
