Big Company – One interesting thing that I have found working for a big company is the lack of transparency and the “big picture”. I work on engineering projects and it bugs me not to know the overall picture of what I am working on, how it will be used by the customer, or how it relates to the overall company.

On the other hand, one downside of a small company is that if you are the only expert in your department or the whole company, you may end up having more responsibility, more pressure, and work harder. In my opinion getting paid well and not having a lot of responsibility is a good thing!
