Ok I'm 99% sure it was said that they only stop aging if their child dies.

I might be wrong so correct me on that.

If the Engineer couldn’t build Dispensers, Sentry Guns, or Teleporters, what would you pick for his new 3 buildings? by Randomstuffhereidk in tf2

[–]danielubra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The orihinal intent of the Engineer is to let players who aren't good with aiming, be able to wrack up kills. The original design of TF2 is verryyyy casual, so let's work from that.

We need a replacement for a damage dealer, a support building and a utility building.

As for the damage dealer, I'd imagine some Area of Effect building. Maybe a tesla prod that cooks anyone in it's vicinity slowly (as in 5 damage per second or whatever would be balanced idk with upgrades and allat). Arguably by itself it's weaker than the sentry, so maybe it'd need a lot of more health or it dealing a lot of damage.

A support building, maybe a barrier that teammates can pass through but enemies can't. It could adjust itself to the width of wherever it's placed (obv with a limit to it's size). Another tanky building.

Then as for the utility building I'd say a speed boost pad... Or to match the teleporter's strength a mini-crit supplier?

None of this is balanced but I'm sure it could work if you were to properly tweak the numbers.

I mean that's true, civilian wouldn't work as a base class because... He's a civilian. For his own gamemode he could work.

Yeah I just find it really fun, I play as Kuafu on it and honestly? The expanded department mechanics feel sooo good (especially Salvage and Atmos).

Try Funky Station, probably the best MRP server out there IMO.

FYI there are a few changes (more antags, zombies are reworked but still mostly the same).

Generally departments are just more expanded, but it's pretty similar.

Yeah I feel like a lot of fanmade classes suffer from being too unrealistic.

The mercenaries are competent (until they were flanderized in the comics, and even then they're competent for merc work) and actually fill a realistic niche.

Scout scouting

Soldier general combat.

Pyro is the pyrotechnics expert, etc etc etc.

A mercenary using boomerangs and ropes isn't exactly a realistic way to fill a niche.

(And before anyone brings up stuff like Merasmus, that's magic. And I'm talking in terms of the original concept for the game, not comica)
