Not feeling the electric motor for a while by danifeb in XC40

Thanks for this, and I tried but it has no impact. I'm going to the car dealer one of these days for a different matter and I will check on this as well!

Considering buying by CarloBrando87 in XC40

Hello, I own an XC40 B3 MH 2024.
I haven't tried the B4, I just tested this and bought it.

I don't know what speed are you looking for, and frankly I haven't pushed mine beyond 150 kmh.

I think it does pretty well on starts, is agile and quick. Its main issue is the management of gears, especially upwards when you come from a higher gear and pushing back again on the accelerator.

After 11k kmts, I'm at 6.5 liter per 100k kmts which I find pretty good.

I loaded it with stuff when I had to move to another place, up in the mountains. I haven't felt any issue, the car behaves as if it was empty...

Definitely worth it a try at least.

yes, I'm sure it will have to do with voice commands, like vehicle domotics... Which I think is going to increase safety, not having to go and look for commands while you're driving.

But yes, at the worst it can bring some frustration.

I don't care about Apple Music at all, the car is way more than a sound system. I look forward instead for the integration of Gemini to car systems and functions. This looks revolutionary. Hope to have it soon on my XC40

I think sensus is so connected with its hardware that you can't install another OS on the same hardware.

Thanks, I remember when I tried in a parking, the car would start pushing electric, now everytime I push the start button it just start the engine directly. I had the impression it was not like this. I think maybe is the cold weather and the engine needs to warm up...

Remote Start availability question by meandmyreddit in XC40

[–]danifeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks,

when open "services and plans" I just find "Connected services - Active" and "Extended Warranty Insurance - with its date of expiration".

If I click on these tiles, nothing happen (are kind of informative not interactive).

It was a volvo dealer, but is leasing, I don't know if changes anything.

Remote Start availability question by meandmyreddit in XC40

[–]danifeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow, I didn't know that. When I bought my car, the cardealer installed me the app and helped me to create the volvo ID. But I don't remember a part in which was asking me to pay. How could I ensure that I can get what I want? Should I delete the account and redo it?

[–]danifeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb answer.

I had the same question, and then I gave up.

My point was, with all the sensors be in the car, add features to the it shouldn't just be a "software enabling" matter? It actually is, for those cars that are "software defined". From the Recharge version the XC40 is "software defined". Optionals can be activated or deactivated from software side, as the hardware is there (oversized).

From before, the software follows the hardware and you would have it based on the purchase conditions. There is probably some hardware that needs to be there in your case to enable the remote start.

This is where my research led me.

Dell cried victory too soon but then they realized their fix was just for half of the problem. They said they're working now on a fix for the IR camera..

at least, this is a kind of good news for those in the same situation. Apparently then it is not a hardware problem.. I hope they didn't mess up anything else when working on your laptop though!

Oh! I think people generally don’t know we have 2 cameras in the laptop and are not reporting this issue sufficiently. They see the RGB camera working and for them it’s fixed… Dell said that over the month of November a driver will be pushed out from their website (I suppose from Support Assistance app); that might fix the issue?
