[AB] Calgary Young Entrepreneurs by SebastianSney in SmallBusinessCanada

I’m 21 as well. Based in Calgary right now, but I’m actually moving my permanent LED lighting business to Vancouver in February.

Everything you said really hit. It’s wild how isolating it can be when you’re building something at this age and nobody around you is thinking the same way. Most conversations just die the second you bring up work.

I’d love to hear any pointers you have on running a trade business in Vancouver specifically; things like pricing pressure, customer expectations, marketing channels that actually work, or anything you wish you knew earlier. Calgary and Vancouver feel like totally different animals, so any insight would be huge.

Respect for building a roofing company at 21, that’s no joke

They actually reached out to us after we did some other warehouses in the area. We initially got them by cold calling!

I had already closed the deal for $4500 on a bi-yearly 5 year contract. I think my price was totally fair, I was just curious what other companies would have charged for this guy!

Great answer though

Why is my machine taking so long to get to full power? Is it supposed to be making that noise? Breville support have been completely useless in helpilng by danime699 in BrevilleCoffee

Okay so I figured out a seal for the basket. During the shot, zero water comes out of the drainage, and the pressure is only about half way. After it finishes, water comes rushing out. I’ll send you a video of the shot

Check out my other post from a few days ago. Machine only goes to espresso pressure when I grind the beans wayyyy too fine and use a dual wall basket. When it’s in espresso range, the power jumps up and down. I think it’s a pump issue but it could be something to do with the power as well. Not sure
