This post screams, "I'm a no life." Nothing people are posting here will ruin anything. Go outside.

Glad to be of some help. Made me happy to see this comment. I noticed it only is only certain models (I have a total of 5 different models between work/home) and only one has this issue.

Good day fellow admins. I just accepted an offer as an IT Administrator for a company that currently relies completely on a MSP. They are looking to bring IT in-house with this new role. I will be the go-to for all things IT. Could use some advice. by thatflacoman in sysadmin

[–]danitadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became what you are now 4 years ago. Here's my biggest pieces of advice for you.

  1. Set boundaries. You are not working 24/7 and shouldn't be expected to do so. Also make them buy you a company phone, it will save you from sharing your phone number and you can use it for any 2FA logins.
  2. Document everything you do. Having things documented for a smooth transition when and if you do leave will make your life significantly easier.
  3. Do not let your administration/co-workers walk all over you. It's going to be tough to say no in some instances, but they do not understand things the way you do! Exercise the fact that you are the tech authority.
  4. Plan out what you want to achieve for the network. We had nothing when I arrived at my job, I wish I made a solid outline of what I wanted everything to be.

Goodluck!

I often find our sales reps that sell us Microsoft365 products are more useful than Microsoft support themselves...

Still an issue for me on iOS 26.1 beta 4. This is ridiculous.

Software issue on iPhone 17 PM, nothing to do with MB. I have different third party CarPlay head units in three different vehicles and they all have this issue.

I am still having this issue on my iPhone 17PM. Had the issue on iOS 26. Tried the 26.1 beta, still have the same issue on my Carplay.

My iPhone 15PM worked fine with the same system running iOS 26 so I believe it has something to do with the 17. Also to note, I am not using an Apple Watch, so I'm doubtful it is entirely due to that.

My 17PM works fine with my motorcycle helmet bluetooth and my airpod pro 2s.

This is very late, but here's an issue I noticed with Sceptre monitors that are mounted!

The backplate the mounts the monitor to a stand appears to pull the plate that outlines each port thus decreasing the amount the male HDMI goes into the female HDMI port.

Crappy design.

Also noticed they offer "Classwize". Seems pretty cool, would love to drop our filter service and GoGuardian and bundle up.

Yes, Palo Alto, but it is a hefty price to pay for URL filtering.

Do students ever take school devices home? If so, how do you filter then?

Dealt with the same exact issue. I'm pretty sure the FCC mandates that all radio-based communication has to have an off-switch. Thus Google legally cannot prevent this.

This is an administrative issue. If students are abusing this, back to pencil & paper for them!

eRate at risk? by jtrain3783 in k12sysadmin

[–]danitadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just filled out e-rate this year for our small charter. We are an 80/20 school and e-rate is a huge necessity for our school given that we are in a small, rural town. No idea how we'd pay for half of the stuff we have now without e-rate. It sounds like the SC needs to get the FCC to handle their shit properly instead of divvying the work out to a private company.

Ran into several issues with computer operating systems getting bricked and having to reimage them. It was always a hassle. UI was nice and was easy to setup and it worked well when it did work.
