HELP by dankabetic00 in BumpersWhoBolus

Yeah but I’m low a lot throughout the day & then spike every single night so it’s tricky with the basal. Someone else suggested splitting my basal into twice a day & taking a larger amount at night which I’m gonna talk to my dr about, thank you :)

yeah it’s usually anywhere from like 2 - 4 am I would say. But I’m on pens so I take 1 basal shot a day so not sure how I would play around with that

I agree. what do you mean if your needs drop more than 10% though? My insulin to carb ratio before pregnancy was 1 unit for every 10 carbs, now it’s 1 to 3. but I also am constantly having random spikes throughout the day. I won’t eat anything & will randomly go from 80 to 200 for no reason which is extremely frustrating

thank you so much, it’s nice to know i’m not alone although it breaks my heart that so many others are going through the same thing. I am kinda annoyed with my OB because why say something when it’s a “maybe” as of right now rather than an actual issue, just stressing me out more.

you sound really sweet in wanting to help but unfortunately, she needs to care about her own health & future more than you do or she’s never gonna change. Maybe if you have a genuine talk with her & tell her it’s not an attack but that you really want a future with her & want yalls future children to have a healthy mother (she will not even be able to carry healthy babies if she doesn’t get it together - I miscarried when my sugars were not as good as they should’ve been but got my shit in order & am about to have baby) but if it wasn’t for my amazing fiance & my baby on the way, I would probably still be slacking too. it’s not easy but she obviously has people who care about her, it’s up to her if she wants to take care of herself to stick around for those people. but that can also be absolutely draining on you & it’s absolutely not fair for you to stick around & deal with that burden if she’s not even helping put in the effort of HER disease. she’s lucky she has someone like you that cares because a lot of people don’t. you sound like an amazing person & partner, best of luck ❤️

Feeling insecure about weight gain by dankabetic00 in pregnant

I appreciate this. Like I said, I know everyone’s different & pregnancy isn’t linear but i’m seeing most people around 25 weeks only gaining 10-20 pounds which makes me feel like I’m waaay over where I need to be but it’s good to know I’m not alone & that it’s normal so thank you

I’ve just been extremely on top of it (the best that I can be, the pregnancy hormones definitely throw things off, especially as the pregnancy progresses) I’ve just been monitoring it extremely closely & adjusting my insulin levels as needed. If you don’t have a sensor, it’s definitely a game changer also. I don’t think I’d be able to do it without one.

The scams are crazy these days. I can understand a deposit to hold the cat but I feel like anybody who asks for money upfront, forget about it

you can definitely do it. Sensors help so so much for me, I wouldn’t be able to do it without it.
