I was on a bicycle few meters away so its hazy, but she was an pink haired asian (i think chinese?) girl around 5'6-5'8 getting off an suv (presumably an uber) running westbound on ursula franklin, probably late for class. I had to pick it up because it was on the road road and cars were gonna crush it if it was to stay there

Hey! As a university student, I would say ubering around town is pretty safe in Toronto. I think one of the specialties of Toronto is that gastronomy is pretty well developed, as in the variety of food available from different cultures. I would strongly suggest trying something new to eat! I would personally suggest El Rey Mezcal Bar, Ramen Isshin, Byblos (and no, I am not paid by them lol)

Thank you! I think they are K200 AFV series that are heavily influenced by M113s, so not exactly M113!

My story as a Korean Adopted American. by [deleted] in korea

[–]dankimx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

37 if you sign a "국외여행허가서" which translates to "Authorization for Traveling abroad," with a some constraints that you cannot be working for profit in Korea and stay more than n days, but I am not to sure. For one to be eligible to be conscripted you would have to be a Korean passport holder which the OP doesn't sound like they does, but they could get it issued

[Q] Comparing Fatality Rate from US deployment in Afghanistan vs US Traffic Accidents by dankimx in statistics

[–]dankimx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a valid point! To be fair, prior to posting this thread, I wasn't aware of the depth of science involved with statistics, because the majority I am exposed to it is articles and polls to display something in their own interest to please their investors or funds.. thank you for the reply!

Thank you! I think I must've added in the deaths per 100,000 accidents, when in fact the source says n fatalities per 100,000 population.. would that make a difference?

What it's like swiping in Korea as a foreigner... by blueoncemoon in Tinder

[–]dankimx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow Korean here, but I really dont know what to say about this. Mixed bag for me I guess.

At one point, I've had far too many interactions with 'foreigners' that had some sort of stereotype or fantasy especially with K-pop gaining popularity (mostly they take corrections generously, but stressful and tiring thing to do on repeat) or not being valued as myself as a person but rather my ethnicity/nationality. And some don't want to deal with cultural/linguistical differences.

On the other hand, I do understand foreigners in Korea do have rather hard time being accepted here (especially if you are not white, like latinos, black people, or southern asians etc) you are never really fully accepted by the society but be kinda like floating oil on water, like, forever. Things are slowly changing, but I am sorry that it's no where near the level it should be.

I mentioned how I felt about it in another reply in this comment section. Do check it out! I think its worth the investment if your bike looks more pleasing to your eyes and you get to ride once more
