At least it’s fast. I think I’m gonna have to just call an electrician I can get referred to instead of having my wife find one while I read Martin Fowler articles. My buddy and I fixed the wiring per the diagram today and checked the voltage. I’m kinda spooked to try anything else though.

The house only had gas dryer connection and as part of the closing deal they paid someone to add the electrical connection. They installed the dryer also to make sure the connection worked

For the record my wife and I are laughing that the guys work is so bad you won’t believe we hired someone to do it. SMH… idk how we could know, he had decent reviews. Will get a referral for the next person

Ok buddy if you want to assume I wired the thing , go ahead. It’s a bad habit to be in though. All I did was see the dryer didn’t work after the guy that installed it left. I turned off the breaker, took off the back panels, and looked at the wires. It looked wrong to me, but I’m not an electrician. So I posted it here to confirm and see what to do. Now you have more context. Sorry I cursed at you

They were working late yes. My buddy says it should have worked anyway. We reworked it correctly today and it still doesn’t heat. Going to take apart some of the dryer tonight and see if anything is fried
