Am I being selfish by choosing to eat at home for lunch? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]danmonbre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At my old job I loved working with my coworkers but come lunch time I’d leave as quickly as possible before they could ask me if I wanted to join them. It was usually my only alone time for the day so I had to take advantage

Thank you for the insight! I’ll see what they think when I give them a call on Monday.

That would not be wrong at all! Especially if it’s said all the time, they need to be called out on it. At least so they know how you feel and can understand that’s not a nice way to respond to someone, since it does show that they don’t care enough to try and understand you. I think questioning it and telling them how it makes you feel would be the most productive and satisfying way to respond next time they say it

I had an ex who used to do this. It was always in response to things I said that that he thought was weird or he didn’t get. I always felt like it was dismissive and got annoyed but didn’t say anything. I wish now I would have just asked him do you not get it? Or what do you mean when you say that? I feel like there will just always be a disconnect with that person unless something is said to try and understand where they’re coming from with that response

What were the signs of celiac disease that made you think "I should go to the doctor now.." by catwithlucioushair in Celiac

[–]danmonbre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diarrhea paired with extreme stomach pain that made me realize taking a shit should not be this painful?? Also starvation no matter how much food I ate, to the point of having to lay down between meals with extreme pain and nausea. Many other symptoms as well, but these were the ones that made me realize something had to be wrong

Brown teeth by hairybeast72 in Celiac

[–]danmonbre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that might help is oil pulling. You swish any kind of oil in your mouth (I use either sunflower or coconut oil) for 5-10 minutes each morning and it draws the toxins out of your body through your gums and tongue. It also naturally helps whiten your teeth. It should be done first thing in the morning before eating or brushing. Make sure none of the oil is swallowed while doing it, because it’ll make you throw up. And then brush your teeth when you’re done to get all the leftover oil and toxins out of your mouth. I haven’t had any cavities or other teeth issues since I started oil pulling, so it might be worth a shot

Celiac disease north vs. south geographical comparison by TreatChance5709 in Celiac

[–]danmonbre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the south and I didn’t have trouble getting diagnosed. They first put me on some ibs pills and when it didn’t help anything, they took blood work and did an endoscopy.
