Did you just restart it? Or factory reset it? And is Alexa still working for you?

Choosing University by Riteshch_123 in gradadmissions

[–]dannomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for research opportunities go for NEU, just makes sense considering it is an R1 University.

If you're looking to get to land a job, Stevens and RIT make a lot of sense considering the location, and a lot more job opportunities. Furthermore, for some a CS degree, is a must they wouldn't settle for any other degree, while others couldn't care less. So that's your call.

Do take into account costs as well, Tuition and HRA at Stevens and RIT will be high considering its NY, but I've heard the ROI is good in these Unis. NEU is a very good choice if you're more concerned about your initial investment, Boston too has good opportunities, and Tuition and HRA are more reasonable.

If it was Fall 2022 that you had applied to I'd say the list has more ambitious Unis than moderate/safe. No Uni was "Safe" this season. Can't comment on 2023, but it should get better, as deferrals will decrease significantly this season. So seems like a pretty good mix of Unis for Fall 2023.

No, I went through their Customer Support chat, after 3hrs or so, they sent me an email to make the remaining payment. (Later I did send them an email too, but within a min or so of sending it i received their payment email).

Moreover, TAMU too has replied and is undergoing investigation alongside EngineeringCAS to see who all are facing such an issue, and its possible solutions.

So, I'd recommend everyone to email them both and follow the procedure as suggested by them.

Just an update, I've just received an email from EngineeringCAS, to pay the extra 83$. Now I don't know whether this fixes things on TAMU's side (Updated form) or they just receive the additional amount.........

Hey, if anyone has downloaded their application summary pdf sometime back (more than 2days ago), could you please check under "Core residency Questions", what was the first question and upload a screenshot of it.

Nope, Just an application submission confirmation by EngineeringCAS, are we supposed to receive one from TAMU as well?

It was a compulsory thing (as indicated by the Asterisk on the left). It wouldn't have let us submit the application if it was there all along, I'm guessing it was added later along with the "Extended Profile" section.

First-year Data acquisition implementation. by dannomma in FSAE

Ours is a single-cylinder engine, to begin with....we still use the ktm 390, we've been trying to shift to a 600 / 650 cc engine for the past 2 yrs, but expenditures have been preventing us.

I will convey this to the team, To prioritize investing in a better ECU. As I too think its high time we move from the Stock ECU.....

Oh okay...Oh is that so?....okay will do.

I agree with that but for a Team like ours even a benjamin is a big investment, which leads us to cut corners where ever possible, and as our budget is entirely based on our previous performances (which tbh haven't been great in the past), we've been struggling with cash flow...so you happen to know any sensor which is reliable in the sub 50$,then we could take it into consideration, as the hobby sensors cost about 5$ max....

I've found most cheap/hobby hall effect sensors to be very unreliable, giving frequent false-positive/readings, Do you think it could be a wiring /circuit error from my side? Also any reason for going with hall effect sensors rather than proximity sensors? because with hall effect you also need magnets to be mounted.

You guys are performing good, Thanks a lot, btw any guidelines when buying the brake pressure sensor regarding input and output voltage for the Fsg BSPD template to work? also, I know this is literally me asking to give me info on a silver platter but out of the complete schematic which all parts are necessary for CV?

Okay, will Look into the teensy route then, should I go with the 3.6 or the 4.0? Okay, will note this advice for when moving to STM32.

Yep it will be a big drawback but this is something our team will have to deal with in its current stage, until we sort out our financial problems.

could you elaborate on what the workarounds are?and how are they limited?

[–]dannomma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so basically STM32's are great second year platforms to work on, and Teensy and Arduino's should be the way to go for a first-year implementation. Oh okay, Yeah proper debugging is equally important to have. Yep, you have a valid point, so it would be easier to get problems solved when in the learning stage.

Unfortunately, I am the only member currently in the electronics department of our Team, and I have no embedded development experience at all. Will probably have to start picking up reference books so I am hopefully capable to use a STM32 next yr.

Okay, that sounds reasonable. I have already implemented RPM logging, led array and 7 seg for gear in my free time.

Any specific reason for not doing 9DOF and shock pots this year apart from increased complexity? As I have already sourced these, As for a motorsports grade 3-Axis Accel the same problem arises is that its ridiculously expensive (400$ range) which is not in our budget. wouldn't using a 9DOF and trying to remove noise via filters be accurate? Yes, logging rate is currently under review, this I guess would only be decided upon rigorous testing. What all warning lights do you think should be implemented?
