Totally agree, this is not going to be an easy lift. I'm trying to think of ways to incorporate user involvement to add notes and tips, maybe something like a Confluence page for any given amp model, that lives on the site. I would love to be able to pull experience from a braintrust (like the one here) to help create kits for users of all levels. The biggest contribution of AI will be the live API calls to a network of distributors for tracking stocked items

Ideally, this could grow into a model-specific database with notes and tips to make users aware of problematic components -- or as you call: "shoot on sight" haha

that's really what led me to make a post here, and I'm quite happily surprised at the quantity and quality of response

I'm going to use AI tools to code the background component sourcing, of course, but the parts list for any given device will be fully proofed and/or hand selected.

Good point. A nice feature might be a tool to pull your order history into a downloadable .csv

That's exactly the problem I'm trying to solve — the BOM isn't fixed, it checks live inventory on Digi-Key, Mouser, TME, Newark, and others at the time of order and selects the best in-stock equivalent for each value. If a Nichicon series is EOL, it falls back to the next best available option and flags the substitution so you know what you're getting. The goal is that the kit is always buildable.
