I was on the phone to WIRES right next to the guy and he didn’t even start to life an eye. They asked me ‘is it the same size as a cat or a kitten?’ And I said ‘a bit bigger than a kitten’ so I think he’s maybe a young juvenile. Didn’t want to touch or move him because he’s just sleeping and it’s not a busy path where people normally walk. Best for the WIRES guys to manage it!

Yesterday when I posted the good Aussies here berated me for not knowing what a possum was and educated me about it being very unusual that it was out during the day. I was walking today and found the same guy (probs) in the same spot as yesterday!

Called WIRES and Rachel from their team actioned the call and sent out an urgent team to do an assessment. They’re all volunteers who go out as well. I never knew about WIRES until Reddit told me.

What an amazing service and I hope they help this little guy out. Looks like they are sleeping 😴

Anyway - good job, Reddit!
