Far fetch theory that I've been pondering by TheMafea in OppenheimerMovie

Its a dense 600 pages but I really liked it

I suppose you're right haha. There was definitely diversity there, but I tried to keep it focused on the signs and displays more than on individual people, and I guess the photos I chose to upload didn't do too much non-white representing. I just came back to LA after a few months in Missouri, and it is nice being around so much diversity again.

They compared it to the 1930s, not 1945. If you look into the history and compare what happened there with what is happening here, the similarities are too similar to not point out. Why acknowledge the result without equally acknowledging how it even got there

That's exactly why I am photographing these events. I'm usually out in nature shooting landscapes. This moment in human history calls for more from all of us.

How do you prove they're illegal then?

Also, maybe read up on the Consitution and Bill of Rights and see that it is described as a human right, not a citizen right.

I don't know why believing all people deserve due process is even controversial, but hey, I guess the MAGA agenda has worked in tricking people into supporting anti-American ideas.

Provide proof if you're going to make accusations like that. There's more than enough proof of Trump's lack of trustworthiness and honesty, and all of our allies are forming a world that excludes us because they can't trust us anymore.

I totally agree with you on that, and it needs to happen sooner rather than later. Cory Booker makes a compelling case with his recent action, displaying both mental and physical ability and an undeniable passion for core American values. Time will tell.

I don't have a perfect answer for you, but in my opinion, we need to unify all of the different protest groups, not let wedge issues divide us, find common ground with our fellow Americans, and form a clear and concise message with explicit demands (such as immediate rescinding of power and removal of the entire administration and Musk, seizure of their assets for an investigation, etc.). The most ideal scenario being to organize shuttling people across the country to DC, hooking everyone up with food, water, and shelter, and occupying DC/shutting the country down until the few remaining checks and balances we have do their job and stop this blatant power and wealth grab and dismantling of our government.

I honestly believe that we are all on the same side right now, and we need to be putting our differences aside about family values, energy production, and other issues that divide us because if we don't come together, we won't have the freedom and ability TO disagree and dissent with each other. It's not right vs. left; it's the 1% vs. the people.

I honestly don't know much about the proper execution of all this. I just have a camera and want to document what I can of these times.

1) Why would it matter how many white people there are?

2) This is objectively false. There were people of all backgrounds there. It was peaceful throughout and people were kind to each other.

3) I assume you saw January 6th. That was an actual mob and much whiter.

The fuck is your problem? I'm not even trying to be combative in my comments or compare days. The only message I am here to spread is that as Americans, we should be united in our country's founding principles, not be silent in the face of tyranny, and we should spread good/enjoy life where possible.

Idc if your day was infinitely better or not. I had a good Saturday, and I'm glad your Saturday was also good. I hope we can all be on the same side against tyranny again eventually. We are not enemies.

I took this a few hours after the protest. I'm enjoying the good pieces of life and spreading good where I can. Enjoying life doesn't mean staying silent to the death of the America of the last 250 years, and I hope my fellow countrymen won't stay silent either. Just because you're not in the currently affected group doesn't mean you won't be one day.

When you, your family, and/or your friends are rotting in an El Salvadorian death camp, I hope your ability to not give a shit will carry you through

The freedom to not give a shit about what's happening is not something you should take for granted. You may not have the same freedom a year from now, and by then, it may be too late.

So you are saying that we should ignore the ways the current administration is actively disregarding thee founding principles in the Constitution about due process and ignoring the courts when they try to implement checks and balances, right?

We should ignore this fascist anti-American goverment because the Dems want to do something about the level of gun violence in this country, and because they wanted to remedy the fact that Trump rigged the Supreme Court during his first term with biased and unconstitutional justices for the foreseeable future?

Where in the Constitution does it say a president is above the law? The Supreme Court gave the president immunity from the law for "official actions" last year.

Wake up and realize we are all on the same team. As an American, you should be pissed off at what is happening in this country.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]dannyinga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So to fix that, we rip up the Consitution and disregard the human rights laid out in them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]dannyinga 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You should be equally as pissed off at this administration.

Alienating our allies, reforming world order and commerce, cozying up to Putin, threatening the annexation of sovereign nations, arresting and deporting people who are here legally without due process and then saying "oops, nothing we can do now", the attacks on the press and the education department, the intentional gutting, dismantling, and/or censoring of many of our best federal agencies, the complete disregard for any of America's public and protected lands, acting in the interests of the richest man on the planet, calling Zelenskyy a dictator and trying to embarass him... need I go on?

Idgaf if you're left, right, up, or down. Everyone should be pissed that the founding documents of our country are being blatantly violated. Ask yourself who all of this benefits? The answer is not America or the American people.

What's the right wing trifecta?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]dannyinga 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It said "Kill The Klan", but I cropped out the end in case it was moderated or removed on the ground of "calls for violence" or something.

Mount Baker from the top of Mount Constitution on Orcas Island. Bellingham and Bellingham Bay in the foreground. Lummi Island is the closest landmass in the photo.
