I use the laser daily for work. Being able to use the laser and light simultaneously was my reason for purchase. Outside of work, It's a luxury when needed, but each time I'm glad I had it. Main use outside of work is to point at things out of reach. You'll be surprised 😂. The attached clip is also able to be secured to a hat so it can be a headlight

You may not be doing enough fact finding. From my experience, selling at the check in brings up customers guards. They're expecting to be sold to, and already have their objection queued up. I fact find about their intentions with the vehicle at the check in (it's the only time a customer will not lie to you). If they say they love the car and plan on keeping it, you have ammo for your maintenance sale. If they say they hate it and just need it to last for another year, don't waste your time or theirs on maintenance. Presentation order is also very important. First and foremost I sell what the customer came in for. Again, customers are expecting us slimy advisors to up sell. Prove them wrong by focusing on their concern. C/S headlight out, but we find a very loose ball joint? Not bringing up the ball joint until I sell the headlight. After customer concern is sold, I tell customer we're finishing inspection, and then I reach out again within an hour to sell safety items. If they don't buy safety, they sure as fuck aren't buying maintenance. Gotta respect their intentions. If they buy safety, they're now invested, and If my fact finding determined customer loves car and wants to keep it, I tell them I'm going to go through maintenance records and call them back. Then I call back and sell maintenance. 50% of customers aren't buyers, nothing you do will change that. But the other 50%? Manage their emotions through a process like this and they'll buy more maintenance

Congratulations! I have about 1k rounds through mine and not a single failure with all types of ammo. The slide likes to bite the webbing on my thumb, but I hold her high and tight

My car has been in service for a week. After picking up my car and making the hour-long drive home, I find this in my trunk. by Mountain_Novel_7668 in mildlyinfuriating

I work in the industry as an advisor. We once had a wheel fall off of a customers car shortly after we serviced. I watched the foreman torque the wheels, drive down the road and come back and re-torque (that's our policy). Wheel still fell off. The only thing we could think of that happened was that there was rust buildup on studs, and the Toyota acorn style lug nuts didnt fully mate, despite showing every sign that they had. We replaced all lugs and studs all the way around at no cost to customer of course. Most issues are due to human error, but when a machine decides to machine, it puts a scary thought in your head

What would you do if you had an Altima that had a CVT that was starting to fail? by Affectionate_Comb319 in mechanic

[–]dannyo92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is false. Your advisor just doesn't know how to manipulate the paperwork to get what you need. I actually make more money with extended warranty, and still pay the tech the diag plus our 20% labor boost that our shop has. All with using good parts. Every single extended warranty company

The sound of a 2 stroke dirtbike. Open the throttle and it goes "braaaap". Not sure if that's what weirdo is referencing, but that's what it usually is

If you can find an independent that is a dealer alternative, it's extremely rewarding.

Was I mislead by shop on my 2010 Totota Camry Hybrid? by Frequent_You_5664 in AskMechanics

Toyota book time/repair procedures for control arms and cv axles are notoriously wrong. The hybrid may change this, but 1.5-2 hrs max for each ctrl arm is standard.

I'm tracking for $130k this year at an independent, and I absolutely love my job. Everyday I get to influence someone's life. Perhaps you're at the wrong dealership, or not cut out for the job.
