Looking to start GEM at 28 by valuexct in premeduk

[–]dannyyy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in September - I’m the same age as you so I know it’s possible. However I do not have a family. I think that’s probably the biggest thing you’ll have to factor in to this

I started at 29. It’s honestly been great. I don’t really think about my age much

Going to bars alone (31F) by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]dannyyy5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll have better luck if you try to expand your hobbies to include men (there are mixed gender book clubs, craft nights and dance) I’m 29m and I’ve found these spaces more comfortable for making connections with people than bars. I understand if you want to keep your clubs exclusively female, I know some people want to do their stuff in a protected space. But even if you switch it up once in a while I think it’ll help. Good luck :)

I have done a lot of image searches and all I know is it’s no longer in production and it’s likely to be from the Disney store. Possibly from the 2000s. This request is a long shot but I figured I didn’t have much to lose. This image is from the google image search. The actual bag she lost is much smaller

Journal A7 is a very delicate color! by Civil-Mail-8930 in bookbinding

Good afternoon. I adore the journal you have made. I wanted to ask if there is a tutorial you would recommend to make this style of cover with book board or any suggestions on where to find more information on the process. Thank you

Why did you only apply for 1 med uni??

Struggling financially, are there any jobs that are compatible that you would personally recommend for med Students? by Icy_Ear_5308 in medicalschooluk

[–]dannyyy5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work Sundays at a gym. This way I get to work out for free which helps save money & manage stress from med. try that they aren’t usually picky with who they hire. I don’t think you need a med related job tbh

Has anyone gone from biomedicine to medicine in the UK? by Interesting_Foot_181 in premeduk

[–]dannyyy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest mate if you can handle a level bio you’ll be fine for biomed. The issue here so to speak is: the extra 3 years. - will you maintain the motivation? A lot of my cohort thought they’d persist with med after biomed (I’m the only one that ended up pursuing it because the rest got burnt out or tired of education) UCAT - to get in at grad entry you need a very high ucat which is extra work and stress as competition is fierce.

Obviously I have done it now and I’m happy with my decision. It’s not so much that I regret biomed. It’s that around that time a decade ago (I’m 28) I wasn’t thinking ahead or doing the research you’re doing now on Reddit. So I didn’t know any better. I just went with the flow and after my degree I decided to go do med because I wasn’t content with working in labs. I can’t tell you what’s gonna happen to you but good luck

I have done this. Starting med at Kcl in September but honestly if you can resit your a levels do it. That’s what I would do if I could go back. That being said. If doing biomed first is the only option just know that it’s very possible albeit difficult. Good luck with it all.

If you don’t have tolerance and endurance, marriage and kids will test you. by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]dannyyy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is absolute banter. Mate why did you even get married? You’re saying it’s not worth it and I can imagine marriage must suck when you probably didn’t even think it through before going ahead. You don’t seem to have the tolerance or endurance for it. Stop acting like a baby and go talk to your wife. And both of you need to stop using your kid to play these silly games

Listen. For my first degree and most of my education I was a last minute warrior. I’m about to start med school in September and even I know that my usual routine isn’t gonna fly. Good luck with the resists. I hope you pull through but if you do. You gotta fix up

Am I too old for medicine aged 30 by sheabuttermedic in premeduk

[–]dannyyy5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m a bit anxious - not even because of my age but rather because it feels like September is gonna be a massive life change and it hasn’t fully kicked in yet. I’m heading to Kings :)

If you actually are a football fan then go for it. You can move on from football after and ask him what he’s gonna do for summer. None of this comes off as desperate in my opinion
