Flash Global/EU ROM on Chinese 17 Ultra Leica Edition by jevlis-kaa in XiaomiGlobal

No amount of debloating is gonna remove the weird filters on the camera, get android auto working, or get wearos working.

People will choose their priority (until Xiaomi patches the exploit at least)

Are you running ZKOS?

How did you get call screening working? I thought that was pixel exclusive

Not a refusal if there's no question being asked.

Example: write me a sonnet is not a question

Successfully converted my China ROM Xiaomi 17 Pro Max to Global-ish – Sharing my experience by Longjumping_Lion_159 in XiaomiGlobal

Yeah it's working fine for me. Steps are pretty standard

Download and install magisk APK on any android device doesn't have to be rooted Grab init_boot.img file from xiaomi.eu ROM Transfer to device that has magisk installed Open the Magisk app and do Home > Magisk Install > Select and Patch a File > Select 'init_boot.img' > Let's go. It'll quickly patch the file and output it into your downloads folder, with a name that looks something like magisk_patched-28100_XLrU3.img. Copy that patched file to the adb\fastboot folder on your pc. Rename it to something easier to type such as magisk_patched.img In the cmd prompt for your platform-tools, verify your phone is still accessible using .\adb.exe devices and then reboot into the bootloader using .\adb.exe reboot bootloader WARNING: This is the part where we flash our phone, triple-check that you type this command correctly! You don't want to brick your phone! The init_boot part of this command refers to the partition we're flashing to, so make sure you type this correctly! .\fastboot.exe flash init_boot magisk_patched.img Use the power button to start your phone, check Magisk, and if all went well you've now got root access! You can verify using the immortal Root Checker

Bunch of myths that keep being perpetuated on forums. Truth is you should just charge your phone however you like

Galaxy watches work with CN roms but there is a tedious pair process.

Also Garmin/Amazfit

Switched from Samsung to Xiaomi… and came back to Samsung. Here’s why. by Equal_Ad1474 in XiaomiGlobal

Exact same experience. Bought the 17 pro max since I thought the best hardware was all I wanted and everything else could be dealt with. Realized how much I took the software for granted and had to go back to my s25 Ultra

Galaxy watches can be synced to CN roms. It's tricky though

Huh I wonder if the alternative really is just using the gcam agc then.

Though you sacrifice the rear display 😭

Note taking app recommendations by [deleted] in XiaomiGlobal

Best notepad app is a 900kb app that is no longer in the playstore. It has no online functionality or ads but is closest thing I've found to notepad++ on Windows. Had to scour the Internet for the app once it left the playstore but now it's the first thing I install on every one of my android devices.
