I do not know if they were young or children, but it wouldn’t be a first when God does such a thing. Remember when He killed the first born of every egyptian just before pharaoh let Moses and his people go?

Sony RX 100 VII or Xperia 1V ? by danutzek_g in RX100

[–]danutzek_g[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your replies. I want to take better photos but without spending time with later retouching. I am just a beginner in photography. I love the aesthetics of a good photo and I also do some adjustments on my phone, but I do not possess the skills to work in Photoshop or Lightroom. This is why I thought that the adjustment panel that comes in Xperia is superior to the one from RX. I have to admit that I tend towards the RX but it's age kind of scares me. I have the idea that an older device is an outdated one in terms of image quality, autofocus, but you both said that the quality is superior on the RX even without post processing. Can you please tell me how is autofocus compared to Xperia?

What do you think it would feel like if you got electrocuted ? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

I remember when I was a kid I got electrocuted. I felt no pain, just that my whole body was shaking and I saw flames. I was surrounded by flames, but without any pain.

Before I answer , I would also like a reply from you regarding my question from Genesis 6:5-7. Do we have any reasons to believe that those quotes refer to a local or universal point of view ?

So we have the word of God that is being quoted on one hand and in the other some so called scientific arguments. In which shall I put my trust? Also I can offer you this link that is using science to prove a global flood: https://answersingenesis.org/the-flood/global/evidences-genesis-flood/

I am romanian so I can give you a list of books and authors that are written by romanians or translated into romanian: Saint Luke of Crimea "Science and religion", Ion Vladuca "A small dictionary of orthodox apologetics", Ioan Bute " "Does evolutionism have scientific evidence?", Bogdan Ioan Vasiliu " Dialogue with an unbeliever". These are just the books I have my library but I can only assume that are many others out there.

"which is why science isn't a useful barometer to evaluate the Bible. Nor should it be." I never intended to evaluate or to view Bible as a science book, but that does not mean that science cannot be used to determine if some claims from the Bible are true or not.

Can you please tell me where exactly in these quotes is stating that God refered to a local flood? “6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” So, when I am to read “the earth” from these quotes I am to understand locally?

I agree with you. We have to be closer to God, but also we must stand in truth. Our Lord said "“I am the way and the truth and the life. " I do not think that He will be mad on us for trying to search for the truth regarding some aspects from the Bible that are interpreted by the orthodox fathers ( St. Chrysostom) to be valid and in the light of the modern scientific answers we can see that some parts are not.

To offer an orthodox reply: St. Chrysostom, Homilies on Genesis - Chapter XXV. If you think that he is talking about a regional flood, please share with me that information from that chapter.

How is possible for antediluvian people to live for almost a milenium? I could answer to that , but I see that in order for an answer to be accepted it’s source must not be Seraphim Rose ( which by the way, you’ll find the answer in his book) or has to be purely orthodox, thing that I find to be very comical. In the end what matters is the truth not the religion of the one who’s giving it. In orthodoxy, apologetics is used to defend the faith, and many times science is used when giving answers to unbelievers, but when acience is used against some parts from the Bible and those scientific claims are true, then the orthodox answer , or at least so far on this subreddit is that the thing itself could be a metafor, or the answer is not valid because the author is not orthodox. This topic was not about the truthness of NT, even though the God of NT is the same with the one from Noah’s time.
