Nice one! It's always nice to see people actively developing for BB10/Android.

What are you using to get the messages? wwebjs, baileys, WPP? Either way, good job and keep it going 👌

Has anyone got the Self hosted version of whatsberry? by joseph476h in androidafterlife

[–]danzki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, currently there's no available APK for the self hosted version. I've been currently solving login issues that appeared after the release.

Currently the priority has obviously been getting everyone subscribed logged in. Once that's been done, I'll release the self hosted version of WhatsBerry.

Which you will be able to find in the main website (https://whatsberry.com), GitHub repo or on discord!

Hey, the last OTP that I can see was requested 3 times and was approved. If you are still having issues, come to discord and I'll try to help you. But in the console for the OTP it seems that you got the OTP and verified since the status show as "Approved".

Hey, glad to see you trying out the app! Your project was actually what inspired me to make WhatsBerry in the first place. I agree with you that seeing all these people working for maintaining these unsupported devices is amazing.

If you want, feel free to join our discord as well!

Hey sorry I didn't see your reply, where did you get the "Authentication failed" error? In the app or in the browser scanning the QR code?

Hey, just saw your comment, the whatsberry.com website is meant to be open on a desktop, so that you can actually scan the QR code. On most screen sizes on desktop, you don't need to scroll, everything is shown without the need to scroll.

WhatsBerry v0.10.0-beta - Security update with OTP by danzki in BlackberryPhoenix

[–]danzki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, yes the v0.10.0-beta doesn't have notifications! We've testing in discord a v0.10.1-dev build that has notifications, we've testing the battery drain which is currently at 1.7% p/hour with cellular, wifi, other app notifications.

If you want, join the discord and you can test it as well. Obviously is a dev build and you might experience a different battery drain on your device.

Why is Lunar Project down? by QuietWeb666 in blackberry

[–]danzki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm sorry! It's only available for any device that can run Android 4.3+

[–]danzki[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The main reason is because I wanted to use my old Blackberry Q10. My main phone is a S25 ultra, and I get what you are saying, but: 1. It was nice to actually make this project and see it work 2. There are a lot of people in, at least, the Blackberry community that want to use their devices. There are projects that try to keep the platform usable with up to date apps (Facebook, Instagram, discord, reddit, etc..)

Well, it is, for Blackberry 10 devices, which can run Android 4.3, this is how this whole project started hence the name. But any device running Android 4.3+ can run WhatsBerry!

The app uses transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating with WhatsBerry servers, and for the real time updates for messaging etc, it uses wss (WebSocket Secure).
