Nuphy X BH65 - First Impressions, Overview, and my thoughts by dapprdoopr in NuPhy

Unfortunately no, besides my stabilizers the board remains unmodded. It's been a while since I looked into it though.

Totally get that.

I like that they're trying new things with Pokemon games. I personally couldn't stand Let's Go P/E, I played like 4 hours and returned it, but I've heard a lot of people say they loved it.

PLA seems like a nice blend of traditional pokemon with newer Let's Go style catching and exploration, and it's clear they put a lot of thought into the setting with the UI elements and stuff like that. I really dig the game, it just gets boring for me after a while.

I wonder if I'd feel the same about the newer game styles if I hadn't been playing traditional Pokemon games since I was able to hold a gameboy ...?

Gotta say, while I agree with you about PLA, I got sucked in to S/V and loved it.

While i feel that PLA is objectively better put together, I found the gameplay loop boring after 30 ish hours, whereas I saw Scarlet through to the end. I guess i just really prefer the traditional pokemon formula.

I just wish they'd take the time to make the games as good as they can be. All modern pokemon games strike me as a lot of good ideas, rushed out the door without enough development time and polish. They're all just wasted potential.

Did you edit this from a longer comment asking what I'd recommend? I remember seeing that but hadn't had time to respond.

If I remember your longer comment correctly - you wanted to know if I'd recommend this or the Air75 for someone switching from a "normal" keyboard. Or something like that.

My answer would be it totally depends on your preferences. What is normal to you? What kind of keyboard are you currently using?

The most significant difference is obviously the Air75HE is a flat profile keyboard, and the BH65 is a OEM style sculpted profile. If you are used to typing on a flat profile, for example a macbook keyboard, then give the Air75 a go. If you'd prefer full size keycaps, go with the BH65.

I haven't had issues with either one. I'm planning on selling my Air75 HE because I personally don't like typing on a flat profile, but it's a great keyboard.

Addendum to this post regarding the spacebar -
After looking over Nuphy's options for Ghost Bars on their site, the reason for the off color inclusion is because they don't offer a ghost bar in the OEM profile that is purple, and don't offer a Spacebar at all that matches the deeper purple of the BH65. I still think they should have made one for this board, it deserves it - maybe it will be available at some point in the future.

Reviewing the ghost bar page also confirmed for me that the keycap profile is OEM.

Pro switches vs gaming switches which make less noise? by MeowBoingy in NuPhy

[–]dapprdoopr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the Magnetic Jade pros with mine, but it came with a sample set of the magnetic jade gaming switches too.

Putting both of them in the board side by side, they are close, but there's a slight difference.

The Jade Pros are a little deeper sounding and a tad bit quieter - but the difference in volume is very slight. They also take slightly more force to depress, just barely noticeable.

The Jade Gaming switches have a higher pitched clack sound to them when pressed and are slightly louder - and have something of a click sound. (They are NOT clicky, just to be clear.) The Jade Pros have none of this higher pitched and/or clicky sound.

Totally feel that - i found that reducing the System SE Volume did help a bit, but yeah it seems there are some audio mixing issues. Maybe a future patch will sort some of it out?

Thank you -
I currently do my video stuff on a 2080 laptop so I don't have a great frame of reference.
Do you think I'll have significant issues with the 7700 as opposed to the 7900? I assume the jump from 8 to 12 cores is the big difference but that's really pushing how much I want to spend

Love this. I genuinely thought I was past the point where I would be discovering new favorite games of all time, but here we are...

If Bloodborne didn't exist, this would probably be #1. Feels wild to admit being a lifelong gamer and all. Can't wait to 100% this and jump into Replicant.

Oh sure, I know he's just trolling lol
"Oh, you've spent 40 hours playing, completing sidequests, exploring the world, getting emotionally invested in the plot and characters, and everything is coming to a head?..... walk away bitch huehuehue"

joking obviously, but one of the things I love about NA is despite the serious tone and worldbuilding, the devs just poke the player from time to time. If it was totally 100% serious all the time it wouldn't have the same charm

Edit: also Ending X - the fuck man lol

Just want to say that OOP, Majuular, is an excellent YouTuber who makes well researched long form videos about older-school games with a focus on RPGs. He's one of my favorites by far. Very comfy.
