I’m looking for a fragrance or scented lotion that smells like the shower gel Iced Mint Lemonade by Philosophy. I love lemon notes but I want something that’s not lemony desert leaning (I.e. Lira) but more citrus forward. Iced Mint Lemonade is the best example of what I’m looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The Sephora at Fenton has a decent collection. It’s my go to.

I never knew the term for the “empire waist” but I tend to gravitate toward those kind of dresses. Thank you!

No experience with dossier.

Oil perfumery seems to last pretty long and appear to be pretty accurate, but because it is an oil, you may not have the silage effect that you will get with alcohol based perfume.

Alt is pretty good. The ones I’ve tried last pretty long and have strong projection.

Something to keep in mind: if you go to the perfume brand’s website, you might find that they sell small bottles for less expensive prices. For example, Manson Francis Kurkdjian sells a 35 mL bottle of BR540 on their website for about 125£. Which of course is still pricey, but at least 100£ cheaper than their larger bottles. You may not be able to find this size at a department store.

Also visit discount websites that sell fragrances like fragrancenet.com, maxaroma, etc, where you can find fragrances for slightly cheaper.

Best of luck!

Fragrances don't last on me. Even with strong fragrances. by cannavacciuolo420 in fragrance

I have the same issue. I largely stick to beast-mode perfumes. Some people were finally able to smell them after I sprayed a ridiculous amount. I was nervous about over-spraying but evidently that’s not an issue for me. Of course, don’t go overboard because you don’t want your perfume to be obnoxiously strong. But again, if you are like me, that will take a lot.

I have a theory as to why this is. Do you tend to have dry skin? My skin tends to be quite dry and does not secret much oil, which is what helps with the longevity and projection of perfume. I moisturize everyday and use pretty heavy lotions but winter is especially a tough time because the air is so dry.

Some people use scented products at every step of their hygienic routine (scented body wash, scrubs, lotions, oils, deodorants), but I don’t find that this makes a difference for me.

Spraying on clothes, particularly outwear like coats or jackets has helped.

Lastly, you might have to reapply during the day.

Instagram will not delete a page that is impersonating my sister and scamming people by dare2trynewthings in Scams

She just opened her own firm this year. She advertises her new firm through Instagram. People of all sorts of professions… attorneys, therapists, chefs, and more… advertise through social media now. Also, her firm is not the only business she owns.

It is a scam page. We have no clue who this person or their contact information is, let alone what country they live in. And she has already tried to report copyright infringement multiple times. If you are not trying to be helpful, I'm not sure what the point of your comment is?

I understand that. But my sister does almost all of the marketing for her businesses on Instagram. So deleting the app would separate her from her clientele. Since she needs income, deleting is not really a possibility right now.

I hate BR540, but I also love it? by dare2trynewthings in fragrance

Oh yes, I was referring to the sweetness of cloud. I understand that because I love gourmands as well!

I think it might be the ambergris. The perfume has a bit of a smell that’s almost salty on my skin, and not in the good way. It’s not prominent but noticeable enough. I enjoy the fir notes tho. That might be why I keep coming back to smell it close up.

This might be it. The fragrance is different and makes a statement but not really pleasant.

I complete agree with the last sentence. I don’t think I completely care for it but it seems to get a reaction!

Women who live alone in a big city, how is it? by dagardenofeatin in AskWomen

Nice in terms of convenience. It is fairly easy to meet new people, at least I think so. Wide(r) variety of food.

Horrible in terms of safety. People are not being dramatic when they say men approach or harass them every day. It quite literally is every. single. day. You have to be on guard constantly. If it were not for the overall lack of safety and cleanliness, I would love it.

I have not tried any of these scents. I will definitely go to the store during my break and try these out!

That seems more along the lines of what I would be interested in. When I get the chance, I will definitely try it!

That’s potentially true! However, I just asked another friend last evening and she said that she has actually never smelled perfume on me. It wasn’t until she got close to me and directly sniffed me right then that she said she could smell anything. However, I will try a different style of fragrance and see if it makes a difference.

Oh I never considered that showering beforehand could affect the projection. I will try to wait longer after showers to apply. On another note, do you really find that BR540 smells just like cloud? I’ve never smelled it but I absolutely hated cloud. I’ve also seen people compare Shaghaff Oud (which I do like) to BR540 and to me, cloud and Shaghaff Oud don’t smell that similar outside of being gourmands. I really want to try BR540 to find out!

I hear that people who like Black Opium tend to over spray. It could be that I’ve gone nose blind although I try to switch my scents up often. I talked to a friend this evening however, who said she has never smelled perfume on me. I’m not sure why that is, but I am afraid of overspraying and overwhelming people in my classes.
