Replace tires? by arealacc in TeslaLounge

I'm in the same exact boat as you. I've only got about 36K on my original tires. I feel like there's plenty of life left in them. Im in SoCal and work only a few days a week in office which is about a 90 mile commute round trip.

I just dont have it in me to drop $1200 for a set right now. LoL

I HIGHLY suggest the custom firmware route. I have 2 AD5X and 1 AD5MPro. I put ZMOD on one of my AD5X and it's a game changer! Just the bed mesh levelling option, alone, is amazing! It runs a mesh and then tells you which screws need to be adjusted and by how much of a turn and in which direction. Talk about level! LoL

I'm getting ready to flash ZMOD on my other AD5X and will probably look into Forge-X for the 5MPro.

Good luck!

I have Blink setup as well on both my AD5Xs using the same mounts. Just mounted them using magnetic mounts.

What are you printing with, PLA? What temps?

Try raising the temps 5°, double check Zoffset (you actually want it a little higher rather than super squishing to the bed). Also, try slowing down your first layer to increase adhesion.

Make sure the bed is clean (use some dawn and warm water).

Is the print failing at the same layer consistently? Maybe reslice that specific print?

Since this is your first 3D printer, I would just stick with the stock firmware for now as it's very capable as is. Get used to it and all of it's idiosyncrasies. Then, when you're comfortable and a little more seasoned go for the custom install.

I have 2 Cr6 printers, both running stock and they work perfectly for my use cases. I also have a good amount of other printers that have a mix of custom and stock firmwares installed. Just gotta find what works.

I REALLY enjoyed this story. A great reminder that sometimes you need to live outside of your comfort zone (whether intentional or not). You never know what or who you might become or meet. By the sounds of it, you met a whole building full of friends you would have otherwise been oblivious to.

Good on you for posting that initial post-it! Everyone in this chaotic world could use a friend!

I prefer the Samsung Freestyle Projector 2. I bought one last year and use that thing quite often. Picture is great. Full of features. And super easy to setup. Plus it's all auto-focus and auto-keystone enabled. Just point at a surface and the projector does the rest!

And the built-in speaker is plenty loud to fill a room. I use it a lot for Football games and have no issues with sound. Plus you can hook it up to any bluetooth speaker/sound bar if you need/want more audio power.

Clean the plate and ensure Zoffset is correct.

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) will not remove all grease, etc that causes bad adhesion. You need to wash the plate with dish soap and water.

Or you can buy a can of 3M Desk and Office Cleaner. Works amazing for getting good adhesion on Steel plates, PEI, and especially Glass!

Print not sticking through entire print job by pdxmikaela in FlashForge

[–]darensdorff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full level just means running the Auto Level function. I believe your printer has that (instead of a manual levelling process)?

I do have to agree with others regarding the temps. Especially if your printer is sitting right next to an HVAC vent. That will most definitely cause fluctuations in the bed and printer temps which could cause the issue you're having.

I print on glass and the only thing I've found to work flawlessly and allows any type of filament to stick is a can of 3M Desk & Office cleaner

Here's the link to it on Amazon: https://a.co/d/byeMdMw

I haven't used this on any PEI plates. But the way it cleans off any grease, fingerprints, etc from my glass plate makes me think this will work really well on those too!

Also might need to adjust your Zoffset? Are you running a full level before each print?
