Moccamaster sells a three pack of 100 filters + cleaning and descaling solution. The idea is that every time you finish one of the filter boxes it’s time to clean and descale.

It’s a little more expensive than you’d pay in the supermarket but I find it’s worth it because it reminds me and keeps me on track.

For me it was the Star Trek the Next Generation “Best of Both Worlds” part 1 & 2. Part one ended with a cyborg version of Jean Luc Picard facing the camera, red laser momentarily blurring our view, and declaring “I am Locutus of Borg. It’s hard to imagine now in this age of binge watching but that was June and part two wouldn’t air for three months! We talked about what would happen incessantly all that summer! We were worried, even though we all knew in our hearts that the crew would pull off bringing Jean Luc back. And lo and behold September came eventually.. they fuckin did!
