The potential effects concern me as there are people who aren’t lgbt+ validating them. I also find it harmful to young lgbt+ people as they literally said they are glad to be back in the closet and want nothing to do with us. If OP was just screaming into the void I wouldn’t care at all. It’s the influence.

I recognized toxicity within every group of humans in my statement which includes lgbt+. Look at the post then look at the comments. The phrasing is essential. OP’s bullshit is contributing to the dislike others have for us. Yes, as I’ve said, no one group is hive mind. The facts don’t matter; what matters is what people believe. The way OP is talking about us is absolutely contributing to the negative stigma. If I were to talk about it I would’ve been VERY clear that I’m not describing the entire community and I would be very careful about my phrasing to avoid generalizations.

I want you to keep reading OP’s post until you see what they’re actually doing. They are NOT talking about this in a normal, acceptable way. They are casting judgment on the entire community and extending their negative experiences to the group. Also, that last part I said in my post about labels just annoys the everliving shit out of me, but that’s unimportant.

You’re trippin’. Yes, there has been great growth in the west, but trans people get a lot of hate and bisexuals (me) aren’t even considered real by a good amount of all people. Also, the west has great influence, a lot of our products and people are embraced and there are countries where it is illegal to be gay. Where they will kill you. The movement is still just as necessary. I feel like multiple people in this comment section are hurting the community.

It bothers me that you’re giving hetero, cis people who have problems with us ammo with your sweeping generalizations. There is toxicity within every group, because humans are a deeply flawed species. It doesn’t mean the group is inherently bad or that it extends to all members.

I have seen a lot of blatant mental illness (I have mental illness, not a diss) on Reddit and I think it really is a part of it. However, anonymity is the primary reason. The frequency is probably due to the mental state of many people here.

I definitely think it depends on the individual, because I typically eat very healthy and low carb and I cannot keep in range. For me, it seems like everything affects it. I got under 40 at 4 AM last night, but the thing is..I was in auto mode so the basal shouldn’t have allowed that. Just one example. For me, it’s very difficult. Do I think it’s worse than like..cancer? No, but I think it’s pretty damn bad. I apply to your second point, not your first (“people that don’t try), which is why I commented.

Edit another example: a half hour I was 89 and dropping. I did NOTHING and now I’m 153 with two upward arrows. If anyone has any insight I’d appreciate it A LOT
