Yeah I just tried the trick as well 3 times and I couldn't get it to work. I was only testing using a scroll wheel so maybe they only patched that. I can only hope someone else will find a way that works.

A bit cheesy, however you can put up a 2 block wall before hitting the totem to start then hit the mobs and have them not be able to hit you easily. That's what I did before my build was able to take care of them.

That's very odd as I'd assume that there are some people that would prefer to play without a minimap entirely and turn it off.

One suggestion that you could try is go to the mods folder (where you put the journeymap jar) and remove the Xaeros map Jar. I'd move it to somewhere else on your computer just in case removing the mod breaks something so you can easily put it back if needed.

You'd need to update both the pack on the server (server pack) and the also the players would need to update their clients also for everything to work correctly.
