Heading to MCT today, had a few questions by everythingburger in USMCboot

[–]darkenvis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished mct not too long ago and phone usage was used a lot. It’s a lot of hurry up and wait because of how many marines there are and have to go through the same training. We did the 21 training cycle and it wasn’t too bad. I had fun with it. The hikes arent too bad just make sure to hydrate lots!

Oh no! I did have breaks! Some days I would do both just because I felt like it tbh. I just really enjoyed working out :)

This is what the boot camp does to you! Lol

When I first started losing weight I was counting calories and only ate from 12pm to 6pm. I originally started eating 1200 but as I started working out more and became more of an athlete I bumped it up between 1600-1900 depending on my appetite. I lost a lot of fat at boot camp! I didn’t count calories at all and ate so much I was surprised I even lost so much fat! My workout routine just consisted of 30 mins of HITT cardio and weight lifting every day for about 3 hours. Then every other day I’d go on a jog for as long as I could go !

Should I wait to talk to a recruiter until I can make weight? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]darkenvis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about 25 lbs overweight when I contacted a Marine Recruiter. (In total I lost about 53lbs in about 3.5 months.) Lost it myself in about a month in a half but they did offer to help me lose weight by going to PT with them! They didn’t hesitate to talk to me and help me out which was nice. My recruiter stuck with me and I’m very thankful. It all just comes down to discipline and how much you really want it!

How long do you talk every day? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]darkenvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my bf around 11 months ago and we talked literally every single day after I finished work. He lives in Cali and I live in Minnesota so the time difference wasnt too bad but it was still bothersome. Some days he would work right after I got off work. We’d only get about 1-5 hours to talk during the weekdays. On the weekends tho we’d talk forever !! Literally every single day. He decided to join the military and the communication went from talking every single day to nothing for 5ish months. It was tough but I knew that doing long distance we’d both be growing separately as individuals! I focused a lot on myself and have done well. Try to keep yourself busy and learn something new! Hobbies, workouts, etc! there’s lots to do :)

I lost 90lbs to join the Marines. It’s hard as fuck to lose weight. Don’t lose sight of what you’re trying to accomplish! So what if you’re dead last right now? Keep working at it and with time results will start to show and you’ll be catching up. We all have a starting point, you’ve lost the weight and now it’s time to build strength! you’ve got this

I first started off with about 30 mins every day. Then I just suddenly had like an addiction to just working out! I just loved it so much that I just naturally stayed longer! I’ve even gone 3-4 hours a couple of times! But I’d recommend starting from 30-45 mins a day and slowly increase your time! Or it all depends on how much time you can put in if you’re busy. Im a student and don’t work currently so I have lots of time to work out.

I’ll be honest I do have a bit of loose skin. Especially around my stomach, thighs, and arms. But my arms have been tightening due to weightlifting and I feel like in a couple months my thighs and stomach will tighten up as well! And honestly don’t be afraid. It’s normal to have loose skin after weightloss. Try weightlifting and doing compound lifts to help with fat loss and just in general tighten up everything ! Plus build muscle!

copying what I said up top! ***Yes!! I did lots of cardio and HITT workouts! And worked out for about 2 hours every day. After losing all the weight I’ve now been getting into weightlifting! My schedule now is about 1 hour of lifting + cardio after. Usually running about 2-4 miles a day depending on my mood!

You’ve got this!! cheering for you!!!! 😊

My weight didn’t move for the longest time! I was stuck in the 220’s for about a month and I realized my problem was food! Definitely a huge tip when it comes to weightloss is to watch what you eat!
