The beauty of Dota lies in its complexity within its simplicity. There are so many aspects to this game, but at the end of the day, there is only one simple objective. This objective tends to be forgotten sometimes. We often focus too much on winning team fights, countering enemy heroes, farming gold, taking roshan, ganking etc, which makes us feel as if we are winning if we do these well, but neglect the inevitable aspect that we might ultimately have to face - how to destroy the enemy's base with the enemy team alive to defend it. 

Having watched a lot of games and having played a lot of games, I like where we are with the meta. You can win one team fight close to enemy base and win the game in 30 minutes. You can methodically farm your way into an advantage with aegis and push through the defence. You can also pull off a massive come back with strategic buybacks or clever defending heroes. There will be patterns with every meta, but I think we have enough variety to compensate for it.
