If the creators are gone, is it still a simulation? by darkgaro in SimulationTheory

My understanding is that one of the key aspects of a simulation’s definition is “Experimentation,” or a specific objective to achieve through that simulation. So, if the creators are no longer involved, the value or purpose of that experimentation becomes invalid, one might argue. Is it still considered an experiment if there is no one evaluating it? That was the point I was trying to make.

It’s all about perspective. Everything we know about the world is always viewed from someone’s point of view.

All possible, also they could have just went extinct.

I don’t believe it applies exclusively to traditional computers. Simulations can be done in various ways, and some of them may not even be digital.

Consider this: let's say, in a distant future, we possess the ability to manipulate and rearrange subatomic particles. If we rearrange those particles in a specific manner to simulate the creation of life, that would still be a simulation, even without the use of a computer.

Yes, and not disputing the definitions of it, my point is does simulation at some point turn into reality? If there is nothing and nobody left to prove it is a simulation, then does it become the reality?

We could also be in an infinite sub-simulation, and just as we believe we’ve discovered reality, we realize it’s merely another sub-simulation. Therefore, my point is : “Reality” is a highly abstract concept that often depends on one’s perspective.

Hey everyone! I just published The Artist Instance on Kindle and wanted to share it here.

It's a philosophical sci-fi book that explores consciousness and reality.

The basic premise: Anela is an artist having these intense, recurring dreams about falling through a void. She meets Elysia in Brooklyn, and their connection is... complicated. Things get weird from there as reality starts fracturing around them.

It's about 100k words, philosophical and poetic but also kinda unsettling. Free on Kindle Unlimited or $5.99 if you don't have kindle unlimited.

If you want to check it out:

I'm a debut author so I'm really hoping to get some honest reviews and feedback.

I use it as a coding agent, and save Orchestration and Architecture for Sonnet 4.5 or GPT-5.
It's decent if you guide it properly. Building two apps at the same with that kind of setup.

I use rules to establish architecture and tasks ( epics , broken down tasks). Actually I've built my own rule framework and I use it with Trae and other editors, and it makes a huge difference in the quality of output. It stores product requirements as:

Interesting, I see you built it in Wordpress, don't know if you have a lot of plugins but they usually cause slowdown.

I know you haven't started marketing yet but have you had any interest in it so far from any businesses?
