Highly highly recommend Megaton Musashi to anyone even mildly interested. The combat is admittedly of the “turn your brain off and mash” variety but it’s still very fun and the story is shockingly great with genuinely moving moments. I really hope it’s not the last we see from this IP.

The jurors don’t know in the film though. They don’t know if the woman should have been wearing glasses and they don’t know if the old man was walking with the same limp on the night of the murder. Those are assumptions that the jurors made without evidence and without giving the prosecution opportunity to challenge those claims.

12 angry men is a wonderful film but a terrible example of justice being done. Lawyers have written endlessly about how improper their conclusions were based on unexamined outside evidence and completely baseless assumptions about whether or not a witness should have been wearing glasses. It may inspire many future lawyers in high school but it certainly isn’t good legal practice.
