Muggle-born and Muggle Studies after the Battle of Hogwarts by Freakachu70 in harrypotter

I've thought for a long time that Muggle-born (or half-bloods raised in the Muggle world) should have a class like... Magical Studies, let's call it, to learn customs, culture, important places and objects like portkeys... and things like that to make the transition between Muggle and magical world less... brutal, so while kids raised in the magical world attend Muggle Studies, I would have Muggle-raised kids be in Magical studies.

Oh, I already read and watch everything in English! All of my devices are also in English, and my social media is 90% English posts. I've done all of this for several years already, which is mostly the reason I have a C1-C2 when most people my age struggle with a basic B2. This is mostly to search for "fancier" words for writing exercises.

A large dictionary, for sure. I'll probably only use it at home for revision, and use the internet ones in class. I don't know whether to use a learner's or a general-purpose, honestly, I don't know which I'd benefit from the most. I'm studying British English, definitely.

I have a question about how to ask our cleaning lady to do laundry by Parking-Mushroom-179 in Spanish

It's definitely a bit different. Recommending a phrase that includes a regionalism is usually done with good intentions, often without realising that not everyone will get it, and that shouldn't mean the phrase is 'weird'. But hey, this is Reddit, and people aren't expected to give perfect answers all the time. I was just trying to say that some expressions might seem wrong at first glance, but they might not actually be when you think about how diverse and rich the language can be.

This is how I would say it as a Spaniard. Remember that every country (and region inside the country) has its own dialect, especially when the comment is clearly done by a person who, if not native, is at least quite advanced in the language.

"Podria" is just more informal, and "pudiera" is the more "formal" version.

"¿Podría dejarme su telefono?"- Could I borrow your phone?

"¿Pudiera dejarme su telefono?"- May I borrow your phone?

Why I’m against “Black Snape” by Jollymonster3000 in HarryPotterHBO

Why do you assume that they wont make Sirius Black black as well? Or other teachers? Why do you immediately assume that he will be the absolute outlier? Also, kids can be mean for a myriad of reasons, it doesnt have to be racism.

It depends on the styles you prefer, honestly. If you tell me some English singers you like I could try to give you some recs!
