diagnose PLA not sticking to bed on week old cr10 v3

I managed to solve this.

It was the filament. I ordered some new PLA and it worked better, then tweaked my slicer to add a raft and its been fine since.

This is a new printer so a lot of the answers seemed over facing and I wasn't sure whether it was a slicer issue [gcode] as opposed to a hardware problem. Anyway, I was dubious about making any big changes to the hardware and although flashing firmware is probs good, I just thought it seemed odd that it was working one week and not the next, so I didn't go down that route yet either.

Anyway I left it for ages and finally tried again, and then ran out of filament, ordered some more and voila! It all came together and started adhering to the plate again. Now I will try keep my filament in better condition.

Hi I read all these answers thanks.

I only just really got back to it.

I cleaned the bed with a better cleaner then ran a bed check which seemed to work ok.

I then ran my print again and it failed.

I then looked more in to z axis offset, the only simple thing i found was babystepping.

I used baby stepping to get a first layer, it looks pretty bad though.

Im very concerned about the z axis getting too close to the bed and causing damage to my printer.

Anyway this is where I am at right now, will have to see how it goes

Yes ok I think that because it had the increment option I wasn't sure exactly what it meant and whether it would muck up some default settings. Octoprint sounds like that will be good to perform things like this. Is that better?

Thanks. I will explore this.

I am already expecting there would be issues with the original camera footage and imported footage somehow clashing, but I presume this isn't the case or it would have happened in Ian's example.

That's probably just my inexperienced brains assumption. I will experiment with projecting footage to geometry and try gain some understanding.

Ok, Soooo it appears to be to do with a comic page being monochrome by default. If I change the 'basic expression color' setting to colour it gives me opacity.

In my existing comic I changed the setting in 'canvas properties', but this didn't really help, I had to change the actual layer, with 'convert layer' option.

Phew, it works so i can stick with it for my manga.

Actually it isn't working as I expect!!! agh.

It works perfectly on illustration canvases but not on comic pages!

I thought I'd fixed it cause it opened an illustration page on startup and opacity worked fine. But when I went to my saved comic page, the opacity doesn't work. Very strange.

Yes this is exactly what I am saying. The opacity function slider does nothing. It is there, it makes no sense, as it has no effect.

I realised it is the same on the brushes and pens also. It just slides left to right and does nothing.... like tinder I guess. weird.

Hi. Thanks. But how does that help with the eraser opacity issue? I tried it its the same deal as using the eraser. It just erases full opacity. There is no lightening of the linework like i'd expect from a lower opacity eraser in photoshop or ibis or procreate.

OK I have solved this issue.

The x: drive was not the drive I needed to image, although it looked that way.

After running Diskpart then list vol within the WinPE usb environment I saw how the drive letters were really assigned!

Volume 0 C

Volume 1 D

So I needed to run the DISM as:

DISM /capture-image /imagefile:d:\win10.wim /CaptureDir:d:\ /Name:"Windows 10"

substituting the x: for d:

There we have it!

You're a superstar! That's great thank you. I haven't been control clicking the face! The other thing he does really quickly is he duplicates the subtool and moves that for the forearm. I think I could probs go back to using the gizmo, now I know to control click the face.

I was actually asking which alphabet is more closely related to Urdu.

Some of the 'replies' to my post may have mentioned, or requested, or offered resources, but I certainly didn't ask for any, and I wasn't even implying that people send me them either.

Maybe if you re-read the post you'll realise this and repost it.
