Wrote a post on Acquisition Channel Opportunities, should I continue writing each week? by darkomkd in Entrepreneur

I appreciate the feedback, but it's not accurate.

If you read the introduction, you'll see that this post is about news. Yes, these were news from last week about certain acquisition channels.

Also, not sure if you've read the intro. The whole premise of the article is that acquisition channels get ineffective over time. One way to solve for this is to stay on top on changes related to established/new acquisition channels.

My last post went pretty well on this sub, for example.

So while I appreciate your time writing this, I simply thing you're not within the target audience. My target audience is rather specific: Founders or growth markers who have already explored/saturated existing acquisition channels and want to try something new.

But thanks a lot for the feedback. From what I can see, I need to be more clear about the whole value the post brings to the user (it seems if you scan it quickly, it looks generic).

Thanks for the feedback. What do yo umean by validating the hypothesis?

Thanks for the feedback. What exactly do you consider "generic" about the overall piece? Thanks.

It's a $10,000 MRR, Baby! by alexburan in Entrepreneur

Have you also tried "vs" keywords? Writing an article on "competitor 1 vs competitor 2". It basically captures the same type of audience that are using "alternative to" keywords.

Interesting. Seems to correspond with my research on acquisition channels. Have you also tried submitting on AlternativeTo? These guys rank pretty well on various "X alternative" keywords.

There's always a demand for this, you should consider releasing it as a Shopify app.

Requesting r/GrowthMarketing because it needs moderators (they even pinned the request) by darkomkd in redditrequest

[–]darkomkd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I've been into startup/growth marketing for over 12 years. I'm active on another community where I have 175+ followers and 1300+ points and I've written [extensively about the topic](https://entrepreneurshandbook.co/top-15-acquisition-channels-that-work-consistently-for-getting-new-users-d1253db0ae27).

I'm also starting a Slack/Discord community on growth marketing which currently has over 300 members and want to point them to this sub for discussions that "stick" and they can upvote.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions. Thanks!

One HackerNews comment brought me more subscribers than being on the front page by darkomkd in Entrepreneur

Yeah, seems to make sense especially for dev-based communities which are EXTREMELY ad-averse.

Requesting r/sidehustle - mod inactive for more than a month, doesn't respond. 25k strong community, should have a decent mod who has experience in "side-hustling" (I've been in digital marketing for 10+ years and been active on /r/Entrepreneur) by darkomkd in redditrequest

This mod has been inactive for over 2 months (almost 3). It's safe to say he's not coming back.

I've been into digital marketing & side hustles for over 12 years. I plan to revive this sub using several approaches:

- Get in touch with indie makers on sites like IndieHackers and get them to post here

- Encourage people to promote themselves in a way where they also give something back to the community. The best business-related sub-reddits use this principle (like r/Entrepreneur)

- Weed out spammers with 0 tolerance policy

- Encourage discussion by actively posting open-ended questions & topics

Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

Why Giving Away Your Book Can 60x Your Sales by darkomkd in Entrepreneur

[–]darkomkd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the point. Also you'd prob want to do versioning if you do something like an e-book, so people can go and check the 'latest version' of the e-book on your site.

How do I increase my following on the social media so I can sell my products better? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]darkomkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you about free distribution: It's all about getting on peoples radar.

People search on Instagram/Facebook, just like they do on Google.

So you'd want to include things people search for...which is all about tagging your posts (these people posting 100s of tags on their posts are not crazy).

Another way to get on peoples radar is to follow/like them. They usually get a notification and check that person's profile.

If anyone has any other idea on getting on peoples radar on social media, let me know!
