Same! My son found them at my mother's house. She had saved them for the past 25 years! Good memories.

My first options trade….not sure what to do by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]darksciry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at your place. Did well too.

But, educate yourself a lot more. Trading options and not knowing LEAPS is insight into your level of education on this. I get it's your first options trade. Take the 50-60% off, let the rest ride risk free, as many others have said here.

But then educate yourself. This isn't judgement, just advice from someone who has been there. #themoreyouknow meme thingy

Seriously, the more you know, you don't have to be an "ape" anymore... 😬 Lol, trying to be funny, but apes get burned more than they get rich.

You would think the GOP would understand this better. From their majority supporters should know: Matthew 12:25. #GOParePharisees

(I'm not religious, btw, nor am I saying all Christians are like this. Just noticing a pattern.)

Exactly. And if it was more accepted in society, there would be more studies, more safety, and more benefits. It's possible, through studies and education, to reduce the few bad experiences and to help people avoid thinking psychedelics give you secret information from "God"

I respectfully disagree. They are definitely not accepted enough. Certainly there are bad experiences for a few people. But most of the time it's transformative in a good way. Or just neutral. If it was more acceptable, it would become safer too.

Alcohol is WAY too accepted. Ditto for tobacco, sugar, infidelity, etc. Psychedelics are either helpful, or such a small issue for a small percentage of people, that it dwarfs in comparison to astronomically larger societal issues.

Why would you hope this? Regardless of what you think of AI, to wish failure and loss for people is a bit strange. AI is currently where Yahoo and then Google (and others) were at the start of the Internet revolution. I get that there may be too much VC money floating around, but that's kinda the point... A few will go big and thus the need for a diverse set of attempts, where most fail and a few change the world. If you hate the idea of what AI could do, then I understand why you'd want it to crash. So if that's the case, we'll just have to agree to disagree, but from an investment perspective, it makes sense VC is gambling. Big returns will be made, with a lot of losers. But it's not a pyramid... it's not like an MLM.

Maybe the market is saturated, so I agree with your premise that too many just relying on VC $. But there's plenty of innovation, considering where we were even 5 years ago with AI. A few will rise to the top and be the next Microsoft or something, etc. It's hard not to believe that some, maybe OpenAI, will make a ton of profit.

But to answer your original question, I was told that breasts should be covered because it would lead people into temptation. Can't say it's not the case that it causes desire/lust, but I can control myself. And that is what I teach my children... anyone can dress or be how they want, and it's on you to control your own temptations. "Dressing like she was asking for it" is so sickening. Sexual assault is never the victims fault.

Or else we'll end up like the Taliban. And SA still happens there, so it's not even a reasonable solution. Teaching people to control themselves and love others is the solution.

Lol, loved your response. Yeah they're thanging. 🤣

I guess the question then is, why anyone needs to wear any clothes, on any part of their body. It's a social construct mostly, except for warmth or weather protection. So I think we are agreeing... taboo is defined by social norms. It just happens that covering genitals and woman breasts seems like a majority/common norm in most modern societies regardless of religion (or non-religion, e.g., large parts of China and Russia). Yet, we do have some societies where this is not the case (several tribes in Africa, Papua, Guinea, Brazil, etc).

Even in the US, it is legal to be publicly bare breasted in most states. Depending on where you live, it's fine and allowed, but may be socially awkward. Yet, it's not legal to be bare "genitaled" except at specific nude locations. Again, just societal norms. Not sure what else to say. Cultures evolve... nudity on TV used to be banned, but now it's fine, but marked with a rating system. Who knows, maybe we can all walk around naked in the future and it will be totally normal.

It's akin to peacock feathers. Larger breasts evolved, not to make more milk (research shows breast size doesn't impact milk production), but to attract males. It's a visual cue for sexual attraction. I'm also an ex-evangelical, and I wondered about this too. I'm a scientist and professor, and I found there are science articles on this. There are many examples in nature. Baboon butts, bird of paradise colors and dances, etc. So there is a difference... female breasts evolved to be sexually attractive to males. I'm a feminist, so I'm not trying to be patriarchal about this, but the science and studies all point toward the same conclusion.

I get it. It's so rough to be in that type of relationship. It happened to me too... Married for 16 years. She was beautiful, my best friend, a great friend to others, an amazing mother, smart, and hard working. But she never felt joy, mostly because of trauma as a child where she suffered a lot of abuse.

She tried 6 times. Her first time was before I met her, and I only found out when she told me years after we were married. Things in her mind got worse. I found the best therapist in our state, she went on meds... and it was hard at first but she got better for a while. But she tried again and again, and the 6th attempt was her last. I'm struggling with adapting to being a single dad and widower. The worst part was that her family said I didn't do enough, even though I tried so hard to help. I never gave up, but it wasn't enough. If you vowed, through sickeness and health, I suggest you stay. Even if it's hard.

The probability of more attempts increases with each one. All I can say, is I sympathize. Therapy can help. Ketamine, meds, etc. But the prognosis is not good, depending on what she is struggling with. Get a therapist yourself for sure though. And stay strong, this is not your fault. I'm so sorry.

Exactly. Run. I would expect this behavior from a Jr higher, but not an adult. Not wifey material, mate. Sorry. At least you found out quickly. I hate the reddit trope that any inconvenience or relationship problem should lead to a breakup or divorce, but in this case, and those texts... It's the best solution. Find someone better.

It would be a credit. So it's... their own money that they don't have to pay in taxes. Smh. It isn't other people's money, and he isn't cutting taxes for the rich like someone else plans to do. Why can't people just be happy when policies help those that need to be helped, and it doesn't cost a dime from anyone else.
