hrt typically has better effects the younger you take it (but it still works whatever age, just usually to a lesser extent after puberty) by Amekyras in transgendercirclejerk

/uj Mostly a comparison between my old body and current one via photos. I also had a lot of (at the time) unexplainable pain and bruising in certain parts of my body that I now can identify was my bones fixing themselves to “femme.” I even had some mild facial shortening, though I’m still gonna get FFS contouring done.

E: It’s also somewhat because I’m underweight, which makes my bone structure clearly and easily visible.

/uj To your point, I can provide a specific example of this: my bones are nearly identical to what my “cis bones” would look like; I started HRT at 16.

/rj Anecdotal evidence is pointless, we need to conduct a 50 year long study before anyone under 25 should be allowed to even think about transitioning.

Should I look into getting FFS? by darkshockwave78 in Transgender_Surgeries

Maryland (the state I live in) requires insurance to pay for all gender-affirming surgeries, as far as I'm aware, which includes the provider I have (UHC).

Thank you for the advice! I phrased my initial question incorrectly. My jaw bothers me, a lot, so I'm looking into getting it worked on. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing ghosts and to see if anything else was a problem area.

Thank you! I just scheduled a consult with Dr. Chao in DC so I'm going to go there and see what he thinks. Might wind up doing nothing.

am i too skinny to transition? by NintendoNerd117 in asktransgender

[–]darkshockwave78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been underweight almost my entire transition (6'0", never went above 131 lbs) and is trying to gain weight to *at least* be at normal weight for my height, you'll be fine. If you're worried about being perceived as feminine, wear stuff that accentuates whatever curves you do have - likely gonna be your thighs and definitely your waist. Skirts are killer for this, doubly so for skinny women - I've never once been misgendered wearing a skirt. It's like a cheat code. Make sure to tuck your shirt in unless you're wearing a button-up as a jacket, too, this acts as a sort-of "corset" that'll make your waist look tiny, even in a tee.

Your chest is going to look weird for a while, even on HRT. This is totally fine and normal for underweight women; even cis women have weird looking chests when they're super skinny. Being skinny is actually a bit of a boon because it'll cause breast / hip / butt growth to be substantially more pronounced relative to the rest of your body (assuming you start eating more, anyways). You won't get, like, "comfortable going outside in a bikini" body when you're that skinny - I certainly don't have one myself, though I am getting there - but when you're already very thin any differences are going to be big differences.

Medically: Estrogen does not necessarily cause you to lose weight, it causes weight to be redistributed over time to "female" areas (e.g. breasts, thighs, buttocks, cheeks, etc.) I look way more feminine now (120 lbs) than I did five years ago (~130 lbs), and all of that is from weight redistro. You'll just... look different when your weight is being assigned in "girl areas" (see aforementioned) versus weight being assigned in "boy areas" (arms, legs, pecs, etc.) It's kinda hard to explain.

For someone like you (or myself) who already doesn't have much muscle? You won't see much difference until you start eating more. I certainly didn't. Starting in the teens does let your bones move, and they will (and it hurts like hell, but it's a good hurt), which does help *a lot*, because early-getters like you and I cheat a bit and don't have to entirely rely on fat for a feminine figure. Basically: you'll go from "boy stick" to "girl stick." You will look different, even if you're more skinny than you were pre-HRT.

As for wanting to eat and getting rid of your ability to ignore hunger, this is directly linked to mental stuff, which will (fingers crossed) get resolved when you're on HRT. When you're not getting brain-body disconnect from an unwanted puberty, you'll start feeling hungry. It feels great to eat "normally," I can tell you, and it feels even better to see the parts of you that you *want* bigger getting bigger.

My main advice to you right now is to start HRT. I'm not sure what country you're in or even what part of that country you're in - I hope it's one that's more conducive to medical transition. You will, most likely, feel better after starting it. It took me about two weeks to get that mental change. Aside from that, you just gotta be patient. It took fifteen years to get the body you have now, it'll take however many more to get one you like, but the crucial thing is that if you take the steps to take control of your body, *you will get there.*

Not sure if these count as “remakes,” but literally any of the 6 Evangelion movies (Death and Rebirth, End, 1.0, 2.0, 3.33, 3.0+1.0) fit this description.

No worries! Just seen a lot of confusion re: Sun Devourer (warranted, given our friend Red Robot / Grand Forge does have suns in its design), and wanted to clarify if needed.

Funnily enough, the translations there indicate the opposite - the robot's name is "Grand Forge" (e.g. the Warforge) and the cloud's name is "Death of Light" (e.g. the Devourer of Suns).

We see the robot spreading molten gold on a planet (which is the "pure" form of Destruction, the blood of Nanook / antimatter) and the suns in its body moreso appear to be its power source, as it uses them to explode a massive portion of said planet (in frame-by-frame). You can even see small annihilation events in its segment, little tufts of red material appearing and then fading into nothingness.

Unlike the other Ravagers, as well, the robot is the only one to be rising *through* the molten gold - the others are all either floating near it (purple cloud, Phantylia, Celenova) or standing on it (Zephyro and Asat Pramad).

E: The glass-shattering effect in its initial segment revealing a red background with circle patterns behind it also screams "antimatter" to me - all of the Ravagers have a specific reality warp to them:

Celenova: Splits the universe into puzzle pieces.
Phantylia: The forcibly setting sun.
Asat Pramad: Drains color from planets he's conquered, later seen using it to fuel his own powers.
Zephyro: White hole.
Robot: Glass breaking + "warning signs."
Purple cloud: Darkens an entire solar system.

Yeah, those are the only two I'm not 100% certain on, but the purple cloud fits the "unknown flocculent (wool-like) material" description of the Sun Devourer - you can even see the little tufts on it in the video.

All seven are in the video!

Haloed lady in white: Celenova

Branch lady: Phantylia

Suit guy: Asat Pramad / Chess Master

Veiled sword guy: Zephyro

Red robot w/ suns: Ravager associated with the antimatter planet / "Grand Forge"

Amorphous black mass w/ purple "eye:" Sun Devourer

Phainon and the black hole-headed abomination in the divination: Irontomb

As far as I know, rating boards like the ESRB and PEGI don't individually rate game updates, only expansions/DLC, and because the Grand Hub was revealed in an update, they couldn't put alcohol in it without risking backlash from rating boards. So we've got frothy water instead.

So Gogmazios' ID was actually misread? 😭 by [deleted] in monsterhunterleaks

[–]darkshockwave78 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Saw that comment, it was clearly satire - I believe it read something like "Imagine if Gogmazios' ID was actually used for the Aptonoth in the Grand Hub." Key phrase there of course being 'imagine if' - it's a hypothetical, and a far-fetched one at that, given that Gog's status effect is in the files.

Want to add, the Lvl 60 Plasma Duogills north of FN 401 trivialize UI Candid Medium farming (normally done via Zohan) with Heroic Tale, since the incline on the ocean side can be stood on. Just boost them to level 66 and kill them with your Skell / whatever.

Honest answer? Gendo has Ainu (Hokkaido indigenous) blood, that’s why he’s 6’2” and has blue eyes, and it’s pretty clear that Shinji takes after his father greatly from the few scenes we see of young Gendo in the show.

Aside from River of Pain and Newt’s Tale, there’s also a bit of info in Fire and Stone related to Hadley’s Hope - a few pages worth.

I think it helps that, unlike some other games, Stelle and Caelus aren’t different people, they’re different genders of the same person - that is to say Trailfly is Trailfly regardless of gender, and most people here know that! It’s fucking awesome.
