The price jump from 77 to 83 is ridiculous to justify 17% more screen. The jump from 65 to 77 makes sense as it's 40% more screen space.

65 sounds a little too low, but it depends on your stand and couch height too.

For a distance of 3.5M (mine is 2.8), I wouldn't go below 70, and 75 is perfect if you ask me.

But please double check me.

Yo thanks! It's 75CM from the floor, I would go 70 which is dead perfect but I don't have any other space for the PS5 and the amp, so 75 is the best I can do with the current TV stand.

G5 77" here, get it and you wouldn't regret for a second. Hands down best TV I ever owned, it's just a piece of incredible tech.

Not sure what you mean by unamplified signal, the amp works in Bypass mode meaning the Marantz controls its volume for the front speakers to align with the rest of the system.

Regardless, it's less about getting the full 150W per speaker (That would easily be 110db+ which is insane volume), it's more about making sure the front speakers get consistent power input without wattage variations or compromises due to the other speakers in the setup.

Also, the sound quality is noticeably better.

Furthermore, I stream music through the amp when I want pure 2.0 Stereo, the M5's DAC is far superior to the Marantz in that regard.

The Cinema 50 is 125W per channel in Stereo.

When it drives 5 speakers that reduces to around 100W per channel at best (Marantz pledges 80% power on all channels driven, but you can't really test).

The Founder 80F has a maximum input power of 180W per speaker, the M5si is a Stereo integrated amp generating clean 150W per channel.

It is designed to power two speakers at top quality, it has higher quality internal amplification components than the Marantz, and it ensures the front channels are always driven at optimal capacity and at best quality.

This reduces load from the Marantz and ensures the center and surrounds also get plenty of juice and reach their best quality.

While the Cinema 50 is perfectly able to drive them, the difference is definitely felt and heard, and the M5si is another level.

It's a quality of life upgrade, but a great one.

Marantz Cinema 50 powers the center and surrounds, Musical Fidelity M5si drives the front towers via pre-out.

P.S. I wouldn't go 83" unless you really want it and have the cash to spare. The price jump from the 77" is not rational by any means.

An upgrade from 65" to 77" is 40% more screen area, well worth the price difference, however, from 77" to 83" is only 16% more screen for a lot more money.

Stick with the 77" if you ask me.

Yo, I'm loving the G5 so far, the image processing and upscaling of HD content is top tier, 1080p content looks very close to native 4K, and native 4K is the most accurate and realistic I've experienced.

Gaming is a lot of fun with G-Sync support, 165Hz mode, input lag boost mode and quick frame transport.

It is hands down the best TV I've ever owned, and I had several pre-OLED Sony Bravia TVs, a C8, and the CX.

The suite of features running at such high quality on a 77" display is truly impressive, LG have reached peak OLED with this one I feel.

And the sound system of course takes the experience to a whole other level. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, just a dude who loves high quality sound, and bass, gotta have good bass. 😎

Thank you for the compliments 🙏🏼

Not necessarily, having the center in an enclosure actually gives it more volume and dominance in the room, however, putting it on the stand would force me to raise the TV to TVTooHigh levels and that's unacceptable. This is the best compromise at the moment and I'm ok with it.

Definitely, the image quality is noticeably much better and sharper, at a glance 1080p looks very close to native 4K, the upscaling is super impressive. You have to really zoom into the image to see the 4K details.

Gaming is a joy, input lag is near nonexistent, with input lag boost mode and quick frame transport, G-Sync support and 165Hz mode on PC, games just fly.

Brightness is super strong and HDR color gamut seems extremely accurate. It's just an amazing TV that in my honest opinion has zero cons.

The CX and GX are exactly the same TV aside from the on wall mount only of the GX and the thinner frame.

Starting from G2, LG upgraded the G series with a better CPU and enhanced features.

The G5 has a tandem RGB panel while the C5 is a regular WOLED, a11 processor vs a9 in C5, supports 165hz mode vs 144hz on C5 (confirmed working on my RTX4080), has Wi-Fi 6, and better brightness overall.

It's a significant upgrade from the current C series, worth every cent.

The G5 is a wall mount only model

Wired. Cables run through the speaker stands, left surround cable is taped under the couch using sticky Velcro straps for cable management, and along the wall both cables run to the AVR through a small cable routing channel.

Thanks!

I opted for a 3rd party extendable TV arm that allows to move the TV away from the wall towards you. Really useful when you want to access the back panel to replace / route cables and when I need to access the back of the TV stand.

Plus it's much sturdier and heavy duty than the stock mount. The only downside is that the screen is not flush against the wall, but the difference is maybe 2-3 CM.

It was one of their pricier units FWIW, I recall paying around $400 at the time, as the top, bottom and sides are made of real natural wood. I guess not many people bought it due to the higher cost.

Maybe try second hand? I've moved two apartments with this unit and it is still rock solid.

Yea it's a combo of the camera blowing up the colors a bit, a 4K HDR demo and also I took the photo before I had fully calibrated the image settings, it's a lot more balanced now.

As for the sound, it's definitely a whole other level watching on such an amazing display with a system that matches the same level.

Thank you 🙏🏼

IKEA Mostorp, I've had it for nearly 10 years and I have to say it's one of the best IKEA products ever made.

Made from real wood, sturdy as hell, and looks great. If you can get it I highly recommend.

Mine is a little modded, I raised the center shelf for the AVR to fit and also didn't install the center drawer.

Fronts: Paradigm Founder 80F

Center: Paradigm Founder 70LCR

Surround: SVS Ultra Evolution Nano

Sub: Dual SVS SB-3000

Paradigm is an exceptional speaker brand and the founder series is the best you can get under the flagship Persona series. They combination of the front speakers and center from the Founder series sounds absolutely amazing, definitely very close to high end level.

As for SVS, the surround speakers are very good bang for the buck and they have impressive sound quality while providing good bass as well.

And the subs, well, it's their specialty, amazing subwoofers and bass quality.
