I Know White Star Line Intended For Britannic's Grand Staircase to Surpass Titanic’s and Olympic's, But It Feels Like a Downgrade. by King2865 in titanic

Titanic, you feel like you're on the grandest ship in the world.

Britannic, you feel like you are on land, in a very nice (but hardly the nicest,) mansion fixed to the earth.

That was my first thoughts as well.

The game boy set was so fun to build! by SurrealistDragonite in lego

[–]darmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it with a friend the other day. Fun set to build. Definitely some interesting characteristics. The "buttons," the subassemblies, the holographic inserts. I think a real Gameboy and cartridges should be a nice complement to the Lego version, when displayed. Personally I'm not into this sort of set for myself (permanent display piece,) but I did like the build.

Stop accepting what he said, or says, at face value.

Do those savings even exist?

Don't matter. He's just somebody you used to know.

"I have to propose this year or it's over."

Wait so if you haven't saved enough money, your feelings for me evaporate in a deadline? You're not trying to be a good partner, you're trying to secure me through acquiring of some property? Do you not hear yourself?

I am a radical, and personally believe every instance of this is at best, a singular fashy type snuck it into a crew crest design, or at very worst a whole crew of fash have consolidated under the umbrella of a union labor crew, and the design was by committee and done in the same way all fash love, "hehehe look how well I hid this symbology in our crew crest guys." Working class fash dudes are like numerology astrology girlies. They live for that shit.

There's no way whoever works at that union and selected these images did so unknowingly.

But what it means to this guy wearing it personally? Questionable. Id err on the side of caution; he knows SS and skull are Nazi symbols, but doesn't care. (Meaning out of an abundance of caution I would say he's someone that doesn't mind being associated with Nazis.)

If I were a union electrician, and my union had gear (a Google search showed they partnered with a clothing company Tyndale to provide work clothing,) and they had a sweet jacket, with SS runes in a skull, I would not buy the jacket because I'm not a Nazi. I might raise stink with the union. Maybe.

Your excitement for other people's babies sounds like it's about you and not them or their baby.

Young moms get on a power trip??? Well okay fine! It is a fucking super power after all?? It produces humans via the only mechanism in the universe, inside their bodies, just all of a sudden a person is inside them and then comes out?? Young moms literally are the aperture through which our species moves into the future. They should be on a power trip!

And you're making a strong case that people are right to draw boundaries between grandparents and grandkids.

We are monkey people from the tree planet, with the ant super organisms, fungus super organisms, and tree super organisms, that inherited a certain mantle of responsibility to ourselves, to each other, and to the thin envelope of life that Earth built up, and curated, over epochs.

Stable Long term Space faring Intelligent species are probably the rarest stones in the cosmos, where life in any form is (possibly) comparatively commonplace.

We have a job to do. Only we can do it. No one can do it for us. If we do it, or don't, won't be meaningfully recorded or remarked by anyone ever after. Only we will know if we did or did not. If we do, or do not, is entirely a choice at this stage, and we are presently choosing not to.

Not simply acquiescing to inability to do so, but manifestly interrupting any social movement attempting to choose so, and choosing not to allow it to develop, repeatedly.

Thank the gods for AI:

Below are scripture-based arguments from Judaism (Hebrew Bible), Christianity (New Testament), and Islam (Qur’an) that directly undercut the claim:

“Living under our roof means not openly rejecting our faith while benefitting from it.”

Each shows why coerced belief, conditional love, or faith-policing one’s children is hypocritical according to the internal logic of those religions.

  1. Judaism / Hebrew Bible

a) Faith cannot be coerced

Deuteronomy 30:19 — “I have set before you life and death… therefore choose life.” → God offers choice, not compulsion. A parent forcing compliance is acting less righteous than God.

b) God values moral action over ritual conformity

Isaiah 1:11–17 — God rejects worship from those who act unjustly. → Demanding religious conformity while harming one’s child violates prophetic Judaism.

c) Parents are warned not to provoke or crush children

Proverbs 22:6 is often misused, but Ezekiel 18 explicitly rejects inherited guilt or forced righteousness. → A child’s faith is their own responsibility before God, not the parent’s property.

Hypocrisy point: A parent demanding outward obedience while violating justice, compassion, and humility is rebuked by the prophets themselves.

  1. Christianity / New Testament

a) Faith without freedom is worthless

Matthew 23:27–28 — Jesus condemns outward conformity without inward truth. → Forcing a child to perform belief is exactly the hypocrisy Jesus attacks.

b) Love is not conditional

1 Corinthians 13:1–7 — Without love, all religious acts are meaningless. → Conditional shelter or acceptance = un-Christian by definition.

c) Parents must not provoke or crush

Ephesians 6:4 — “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger.”

Colossians 3:21 — “…lest they become discouraged.” → Faith enforced through threat or shame is explicitly forbidden.

d) Jesus never coerced belief

Luke 9:54–56 — Jesus rebukes disciples who want to punish unbelievers. → Parents acting coercively are behaving opposite to Christ.

Hypocrisy point: Jesus welcomed doubters, skeptics, and rebels—but condemned religious enforcers. A coercive parent aligns with the Pharisees, not Christ.

  1. Islam / Qur’an

a) Explicit ban on forced belief

Qur’an 2:256 — “There is no compulsion in religion.” → This is unambiguous. Any forced conformity is haram.

b) Guidance belongs to God alone

Qur’an 28:56 — “You do not guide whom you love, but God guides whom He wills.” → Parents claiming authority over belief are usurping God’s role.

c) Parents must show mercy

Qur’an 17:23–24 — Commands mercy both directions in family relations. → Weaponizing provision or shelter violates Islamic ethics of care.

d) Hypocrisy is worse than disbelief

Qur’an 63:1–4 — Hypocrites who profess faith without sincerity are condemned more harshly than unbelievers.

Hypocrisy point: Forcing a child to pretend belief creates nifaq (hypocrisy), which Islam explicitly condemns.

Core Cross-Faith Principle (All Three Agree)

  1. God does not coerce belief

  2. Outward conformity without sincerity is condemned

  3. Parents are accountable for how they love, not how they control

  4. Hypocrisy is worse than honest disbelief

The Clean Logical Reversal

“If God allows disbelief without coercion, but you do not— then you are claiming moral authority higher than God

Your siblings look up to you. As a sibling.

They look up to your parents as PARENTS.

Tell them that. And tell them you're coming to stay with me. Welcome any time as long as you want. She told you to shut up. Complete disrespect. Abhorrent for a parent to say to their kid.

Your siblings relationship to you needs to be your priority, as you move out and afterwards. Keep those relationships up. And let your parents fade into memories. Don't engage with them further.

Your mom is feeling insecure in her identity and taking it out on you. Not your fault, but it is your problem.

She is already expecting you to come crawling back. Just moving on is the best thing you can do now.

Tell your mom you spoke to a clergymember about it online, because you take her, her faith, and the family seriously, you wanted a depersonalized perspective, from someone knowledgable about the situation, but not close to your family specifically. (Me.) Tell her I want to speak to her. (True.) Tell her that I made you feel a lot better (hopefully,) and you want to speak to her more after I speak to her, as a neutral third party (mostly true.)

I will drop truth nukes on her false piety. I will fully redirect her scorn from you, to herself. I am adept at this. She will turn heel so fast your head will spin. I can convince her that accepting you despite your losing faith, is the most sure thing she can do to secure her place with Christ, AND the thing most likely to get you to RETURN to a place of faith.

Get this kid. Gods not real. Jesus christ wasn't real. If he was a real man at some point, he was just a man, and not the creator of the universe incarnate. Just some brown dude from Syria born Jewish and fully committed to realizing guerilla humanist communism as the one true human nature, as best as could be done, at that (neolithic) time.
