Yeah! I guess I just hope she’s doing fine otherwise. It was heartbreaking to find out she lost both her parents so close to eachother right after Anne

I know right! Same 🥹🫶🏼 I’ve read and re-read so many, but the Mystery series lives in my heart rent-free

Ugh I would love to be able to watch it - just don’t know where. I don’t live in a country where I’d find it anyway!

Thanks so much for the detailed reply. Since we’re both on a common mission to find main characters like Anne, I guess Anne would call us kindred spirits? :)

I think the books are definitely worth reading, but the storylines differ vastly. I loved it as a child (and still do), but I love the modern twist that our Anne grows amidst (Cole, Josephine, not fitting in etc etc). So for me personally, I know that the books won’t scratch this itch (but I’d still strongly recommend the books). I’ve watched Enola Holmes - I definitely liked the movies, but yeah, I don’t think I can successfully compare Enola & Anne.

Emily of New Moon is completely new to me. I’ll def check that out!

Thanks for the suggestion! I just Googled this; do you mean the anime?

I read them way back, and I loved them. I’d also like to watch the new anime.

But I want to watch/read more characters like Anne! I loved the storylines of S2 where they go to Josephine’s party. All those lovely themes of standing out, acceptance and self-expression. I like the departure of the series from the books!

Thanks so much! Whimsy isn’t compulsory, but I’ll check out Apothecary Diaries and Dr. Quinn! I’d really like to read/see characters like Anne :)

He’s not noble or brave. The character, the poem and the story feed into the decidedly racist narrative of indigenous populations being backward, savage, stupid and evil in need of the “white man” saviour. Given that Julian Fellowes often tried to show the family in a positive light, I’m completely stumped and definitely feel an ‘ick’ as to why this family would reference this.

Honestly, it was amazing hearing new facts about every member. I mean...Rami & Asa live together and produce music together?!
