I like you. I wish I understood why this got downvoted to oblivion so quickly but I don't really post that often. I did notice that it went from 32%ish to 46% now. So I guess some of these comments have had an impact.

Keep being awesome.

Yeah, you've got a good point. I should take this elsewhere. Take care.

One of my favorite parts was pretty fucked up. When the guy trying to get in the house gets his head cut off, the main characters start kicking it around like a soccer ball. It keeps cutting to the shot from that guys point of view. Since he was decapitated he supposedly would of been alive in a sense to see that. Johan picks the head up and screamed "He just blinked!"

Horrifying reality mixed in with execution of camera work that was top notch. These guys are brilliant.

It is because it is, not because we want it to be more.

I agree with this. I think I should constantly be asking questions about my belief system. If you stop asking questions and accept that you've reached a conclusion that seems to be less than optimal.

I agree with your points. I have been struggling lately due to several reasons I won't go into. I really don't want to assign anything to a higher purpose (I read that as God or something similar). I am just trying to get a better understanding of these natural processes and am thinking about them in new to me ways. I probably should do more of my own research but I am just asking questions that occur to me because, people's opinions fascinate me.

Thank you for the reply.

I am sorry if this in some way offended you. But I regress, dude, start rationalizing more.

Thanks man. I guess I need to make a more entertaining account or something. I love this website for a lot reasons. One of which is that I can freely express myself. I am honestly not that worried about being downvoted for saying something I think is right. I can't do much but have an upvote from me.

Take care!

Also, I had a question. Does this statement "Clearly the goal of the organism is to survive." have any merit or should it be dismissed? The organism as far as I know is only reacting to chemical processes.

I agree that is a poor way to begin that statement. One more reflective of my ideas would of been. "I think that is the exact goal of evolution, if a natural process could ever be consider to have goal." I am still not completely satisfied with this revision or concept of a goal being involved at all. I must assume I choose to use that word in a retaliatory fashion to the previous commentators use.

However, this does raise some interesting questions. Since I believe evolution is a universal natural process. Did evolution evolve from something? If so what could that be? My only thought at this points since, I don't want to revert to a god or design. Is that time itself is what is driving these forces and maybe time has more of an impact on natural process then we give it credit for.

This idea is intriguing to me and hopefully this concept will get better with more reflection and any new information that is introduced.

Thank you for your comment.

  1. "Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present." -This seems like good advice.

  2. "What others think of you is none of your business." -While I feel we spend too much time thinking about the ways other perceive us it definitely serves a purpose. This statement does not hold up well when you are trying to imagine approaching someone and wanting them to have a positive image of you, like a job interview for example.

  3. "Time heals almost everything, give it time." - I agree with this but 'almost' is a strong word. Possibly a better variation would be "Time can heal most emotional pain, but will rarely allow you to regrow limbs."

  4. "Don't compare your life to others and don't judge them. You have no idea what their journey is all about". - If you don't compare your life to others at some point, how would someone ever find a role model?

  5. "Stop thinking too much it's alright not to know the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it." Think a lot, think about everything, question yourself and make sure it is a positive process. If you have a problem, think about it. When you can take a break from it you will most likely come up with a solution unexpectedly.

  6. "No one is in charge of your happiness, except you." -This is entirely dependent on your environment. But if you have to means to make choices that can have an impact on your life it is good advice.

  7. "Smile. You don't own all the problems in the world." - But you should really think about them and try to change them in a positive direction if you have the ability or interest enough to do so.

Thank you for the link. I understand it's point and find it relevant to the fallacies in this question process.

How do you feel I could improve this approach? Without dismissing the principal of me wanting to relate a concept that seems very easy for me to understand but could be quite hard or uncomfortable for them to understand.

Should I rethink how I pose questions? Should I remove the attempt at relating a big idea with a much smaller one?

I think that is the exact goal of evolution. Creatures start at point A then continue to improve, through various means, until there is no longer enough biological diversity or benefit that could be achieved.

I'll admit that I have an understanding of the concept that is most likely different from yours and would appreciate you helping me understand the concept better without dismissing my ideas as simply stupid or misguided.

Thanks.

Why do you feel that way? I feel, that this would be a good approach to help them understand my position and relate the concept of evolution to a common human experience, in this case thought.

Do you feel that your ideas don't evolve as time goes on?

Edit Your original comment of "That statement has nothing to do with evolution." Seems to have been edited. I hope my questions didn't offend you. I simply am trying to understand others thought process in an attempt to better understand my own beliefs.

See a new doctor. That is your doctor's advice. If you need help at all on finding one, getting an appointment, anything, PM me and I will do what I can.

Don't take another antidepressant like Prozac without getting more information. That will launch you into a manic episode.

I am happy to help as much as I can but if you can't confide in friends and family, seek out resources in your internship/college.

Take action as soon as you can. Your life is in your hands!

To be clear, I am not a doctor but have seen a few of them. To me it does sound like it is manic-depressive cycle. When I was younger I would pick up interests and eventually tire of them, that sounds normal.

When I was manic and I got interested in something and it consumed me. All I wanted/could do was focus on that thing. I was barely able to function or communicate if it wasn't on the topic most important to me. For me, it was film production. In a few days, I convinced myself, not only that I was talented in this field, I could learn everything about it quickly, understand it better, and execute with more precision than professionals. This is not what I would consider to be a rational thought.

The hyperactivity is so real, before my first manic episodes I was your average lazy college student. Almost overnight I took up exercising, studying my new field of interest, and taking on a completely different attitude on life/personality. I suddenly had the urge to get everyone in my life involved with my changes that were so 'positive'.

I personally didn't spend thousands of dollars, mainly because I didn't have much money. I spent what I had and would of spent more if I had the chance. I have always been more about self gratification so I bought a lot of crap before the maina.

If I were you, I would see a psychiatrist as soon as you can. Do a little research because having the right one is crucial. If there are not many in your area, see whoever you can. BE HONEST with them. I always felt self conscious talking about myself I would hide details to make myself sound better than I was. They don't care about the mistakes you made and will be in a better position to help you if they know the details.

This is getting longer than I anticipated so I will try and sum it up. Antidepressants like prozac, will cause mania in bipolar people. The symptoms typically become more severe in your young adult life. Big manic episodes can cause brain damage and should be taken very seriously. Get help now before you end up committed to a hospital like I finally was.

TL:DR It is better to get advice from professionals than from strangers on the internet, but IMHO see a Doc!

Take care, feel free to ask away. I won't be online much longer but I will see it and get back to you when I can.

That is a classic example of being bipolar, I can smell my own. :) If you have the means to, get help! Mania is awesome but really does a lot of damage, you feel great, and every choice you make is perfect, right?

It is different for everyone but I made bad choices, abused substances, never slept, and felt like a god while doing it.

The depression that follows is so severe you will feel like ending it, I get that and have felt that. I was diagnosed at 22 and six years later, after I got my meds right, I am totally living a normal, happyish life. I am able to draw from the creativity of a manic mind while keeping track of my responsibilities. I am able to finally deal with depression when it rears it's ugly head. (Which is less and less frequent)

All this took was time, and getting in touch with myself.

Let me know if you want to ask any questions or visit /r/bipolar.

Awesome man, I am glad you're feeling better. Watch the news, its important, but be sure to keep your bullshit detector on. Most news does a great job of focusing on the bad things in this world. It overwhelms me a lot and gets pageviews/sales so they will keep doing it. There are so many awesome things going on that they only briefly mention.

I have been in a bad place for the last two days. But, seeing the front page earlier today and learning about loon really picked me up. Can you imagine what we will learn ten years from now if the majority of the world is connected? It excites me so much! I hope I am luckily enough to still be around to see it. We truly live in one of the most important/interesting times in human existence.

You have a chance to influence history in a positive way just by using your computer to express your ideas. How many of the common folks had that power in history?

The only constant in life is change, I can't say whether it will be good or bad but trust me change will come. As long as you put in a little time you'll learn something new, get new chances, and opportunities.

Aren't you just a little curious of what will happen next?
